2.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Mungo (2472) - Southampton, - SEP 27, 2006
UPDATED: SEP 29, 2007 Sep 07Cask conditioned @ Guide Dog, Soton. Doesnt seem too bad but persisten phenolic yeast flavour is offputting. Seems odd that the yeasty flavour wasnt present in the Madgwick Gold I tried at the same time. 2.3
Sep 06 BCA (from Bitter Virtue. Fruity malts with tasty rounded hops - strawy fruity and wood. Smoky phenolic yeast flavour in the finish, whilst not wholly unpleasant upsets the balance. 2.3

Bottle conditioned at The Pavilion Theatre Bar, Brighton. Cloudy brown, no head. Thick malty tasteless mush unfortunately. Really not particularly good.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 BeerViking (1055) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 30, 2012
Bottle bought from the brewery. Pours a dark amber with a big but fast vanishing head. Sweet malt and a faint note of citrus on the nose, plus a touch of metallic yeast (it’s bottle conditioned). Slightly bready malt, nuts, a hint of apple and toffee. Finish has a little hop trying but failing to fight through a slightly cloying honey-malt sweetness.

Cask@Market Porter, London. Amber colour with minor head. Aroma is sweet malts, mild fruity and floral notes along with mild nuttyness and slight berryish notes. Flavour is quite similar in a rather bitter way. As the half pint warms up the aroma gets some rather unpleasant notes (almost like stomach acids).

Cask at Ascot Festival 2011. Pours a orange amber colour with a thin white head. Not much of a aroma but hints of fruit, the taste has some fruit with a dry finish.

Bottled. Explosive, gushing opening leading to a murky brown colour with a slight off-white head. Savoury malts with a touch of fruit and bitter finish. Not a good BCA.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 kwik-lime (654) - London, ENGLAND - JAN 11, 2011
Fruity hints, but really, really, sweet for an ESB. Not a bitter I’d fancy for a session.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Svesse (4397) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - JAN 10, 2011
(Cask at Edgar Wallace, Strand, London, 26 Nov 2010) Copper colour with brief head. Malty, fruity nose with dried fruit and apricots. Malty, fruity taste with notes of dried fruit, apricots, sweet malt and a mild bitterness. Rather light body, fairly sweet. Decent, but hardly exciting.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Fin (5749) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 28, 2010
Cask, handpump at The Crosse Keys, Thame, Oxon, 26.10.10 I’ve been to the Crosse Keys five or six times in the last ten months and rather frustratingly for a brew pub on three to four occasions they’ve not had their own beers available, same again today sadly (pump) Pours amber with a very slight haze, white film for a head. Some sweetness, maltiness noted, quite full flavoured with a light buzzy bitterness, not bad and surprised by the lowish ratings for this. A6 A3 T7 P4 Ov13 3.3
