From the land of sky blue waters comes a boring generic watered down pale lager. Pass

Serving glass: Poured from can into a tall glass.
Appearance: Clear straw yellow with surprisingly large foamy head, but it doesn’t last too long.
Aroma: Uh, smells like typical beer - grains, slight spiciness and a touch of corn. Kind of dry and musty.
Taste: Very little malt taste with bad metallic finish. Leaves a corn like aftertaste.
Palate: Moderate carbonation, very watery body, off finish.
Overall: Meh. Actually it aspires to be Meh - more like Bleh.

12oz can. Rating #343. Medium to light gold pour with a pretty nice, long lasting white head. Light grainy aroma with a little sweetness in there as well. Light flavor, crisp with sweet maltiness and a light finish, not bad, it has a decent amount of flavor. (1879)

Hamm’s, owned by Miller Brew Co. as of 1999. It’s a conglomerate Pale Lager, but if you’re in the mood for it, it’s great!
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 ronaldtheriot (360) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - JUL 28, 2011
Hamm’s has a very thick, white head (which overflowed in my tasting glass) and a clear, yellow-golden appearance, with lots of bubbles streaming up and little bit of lacing left behind. The aroma is of clean water, mildly-roasted grains, and a dash of hop bitterness. The taste is essentially identical to that, with some overall sweetness associated as well. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Hamm’s finishes crisp, refreshing and dry. Overall, this is a good, typical American-style lager. I think it holds its own against others of its ilk.

12 oz. can. Yes, I am as surprised as you by my reaction to this beer. But I was having dinner with the family at Q-BBQ in LaGrange (all right, a paid promotional dinner) and this was on sale for $2 per. Like a lot of places they have one cheap retro-beer, and kudos for not offering the cliched PBR. First thing I notice, besides some nasty dribbling from the MillerCoors widemouth can opening, is that the usual pasty pale yellow is a little more substantial than with a megalager. The usual big head of foam. And put my nose to the glass, and there is a somewhat accessible malt character, with no sign of corn. The taste is also surprisingly malty, without much adjunct in the way. Now, part of this impression is because I’m eating BBQ smothered in the establishment’s hottest sauce. But I’m rather surprised by what I found. I’m intrigued enough to want to find a cheap sixer and confirm my impressions later.
