3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 JCW (1273) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 21, 2003Light amber, transluminate. Mild citrus aroma and flavor. More malt in here than I'm use to and a whole lot less hops. If they called this a pale ale, I'd say it was very good, but as an IPA, it really doesn't hold up.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 tombyars (1204) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - JAN 3, 2012
Tasted this at the Last Post , Paisley (JDW) in May 2000. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear russet in colour with a thick white head. Strong floral hops noted in the long aroma. Thin but creamy mouthfeel and goodlacing throughout. Mixed malts gives a heavy robust digestive biscuit base with toffee and currant fruit notes. Strong hop resins evident in the floral aftertaste, giving a strong dry bite. Orange oil and soft highland toffee noted in the sweet malty finish. An excellent American IPA and well recommended.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 SaintMatty (3624) - Uppsala, SWEDEN - JAN 14, 2009
Cask (Standing Order JDW, Southampton) - Dark golden/amber in colour. Nicely hoppy aroma with grapefruit standing out. Hoppy and lightly fruity taste with the grapefruit notes giving a rather bitter finish. Not bad but a bit watery. It’s a shame this brewery has gone under.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Ethereal (2399) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JAN 1, 2009
Cask at the Eastbourne Beer Festival, 9th Oct 2008. Amber, no head. Citrus hop aroma with lots of grapefruit. Taste is similar - very refreshing but also balanced. Sharp finish. Truly refreshing summer golden ale that would be perfect after you’d worked up a sweat. Unfortunately it seems I caught the last appearance as the brewery closed in November :(
