COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
A deep copper best bitter with rich malt complexity, brewed with Classic English aroma hops in the original Strongs tradition. Maris Otter malt, English Challenger and Goldings hops are deliberately conventional to convey the quintessential elements of a classic English best bitter. Drinks well above its actual alcoholic strength.
Ingredients: Maris Otter malt, English Challenger and Goldings hops.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Slightly hazy amber golden with a firm white head leaving some lacework. Lightly nutty nose. Medium body, nutty and fruity with a whiff of smoke and tar. 190209

Botella. Unclear deep golden colour with a medium white creamy head. Good lacing. Aroma of toasted malt and buitter hops with soem smoke. Good mouthfeel. The flavour has toasted malt and a pleasant bitterness with some smoke to it. Said to be a bit infected, thus the smoke, but I liked this brew.

Bottled. An unclear amber beer with huge lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel and some elderflowers. The flavor is sweet with notes of toffee, honey, and flowers, leading to a bitter elderflower finish. Not a very good combination. The body is thin. Thanks yespr for shaing.

500ml bottle from Waitrose, Andover. Pale chestnut with a loose white head; earthy aroma with spiced apple notes; incredible flavour - like essence of bonfire smoke - with some apple fruitiness, and some deep and bitter chocolate, and some gently roasted nuts - really outstanding. The finish has leafy hops giving a gentle but powerful bitterness. An exceptional beer for its strength. Try to get some while you still can.

Bottle thanks to Jenners Snr. Same hops as the Fortyniner, but so much fresher. Slightly smoked choc malt, musty autumnal wet leaf, apple yeastiness nose. Clear copper with a persistent blanketed head not going anywhere. No clumps of detritus or bog standard BC yeastiness here. Lovely Mild-like clean smoky choc and earthy coffee notes. On this evidence, this brewer APOSTROPHE s demise is a real loss.

Bottle. Brownish with a pleasant aroma. A straightforward bitter with a nice lingering bitter aftertaste. Nothing special but still quite nice.

Cask handpull at the Kings Head, Stoborough, Near Wareham, Dorset, 30-08-08 Pours mid amber, this is a really pleasant fruity, tangy bitter, bit malty, but a very good session beer, served in damn good nick, I really liked this and was surprised to see its low scoring.

Bottle conditoned. Poured a lively white head. Amber brown colour. Malty aroma. Fruity on the palate. Bitter sweet finish. One of the better beer from this brewery.
