arventresca (121), Greenville, North Carolina, USA Apr 20, 2008 At brewpub. Poured a dard red almost brownish. White lacey head. Very smooth, however lacks on taste. As other have said, very bland. kp (6000), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Name: Charley’s Barley

elmatador00 (513), j-action-ville, North Carolina, USA Aug 11, 2007 Poured a dark brown color with a thin tan head. Had hint of sweet malts, some hops, some spices. Pretty bland. Seems like all there brews are bland. Carbonation was a little overwhelming. Finished weak with some spice on the tongue. jcwattsrugger (3757), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jul 22, 2007 on tap @HopfestNC-pours a light tan head and dark copper color. Aroma is medium malt-sweet. Taste is dark/medium malt-caramel/some chocolate, sweet, faint hops. OK carbonation. 19641948 (476), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA Apr 21, 2007 Pours a dimly lit copper amber with a slight head of tan. Laces intermittently. Aromas are earthy and dirty with malt tones sullied by soil. Caramel flavors abound with a resinous pinecone accompaniment. Sweet, almost cloyingly so, aftertaste with lingering sugars sticking to the lips. For a barleywine however, its overall strength needs some work. Hit the gym, Charlie.
