1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Hazy pale yellow color, light white head. Sweetish aroma - sugar, and a bit citrusy which usually is not a good thing in a lager. Tart flavors, defenitely not right.

1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
Slightly cloudy, small head, nothing special in look. Aroma was strong, but so what if I could not detect anything that could be peasant to my nose. Acidic, malty, low on hopps. I wanted to try this beer. As a Pole I wanted to be this beer good, maybe I wanted too much. My verdict is: This brew got nothing to do with most of Polish lagers. Hamtramck does not deserve to bear White Eagle in the label. Shame.

I was apprehensive and almost snobbish about trying this pils, but it wasn’t as bad as I though it would be.

Generic. But smooth, and clean. Better than Bud, but if I’m going to pay for a microbrew, I want one that tastes like something.

Not a bad pilsner. Mine came in a glass bottle instead of a plastic bottle. I don’t know if this would affect the taste though. There isn’t anything really special about this beer. Its just a well balanced, and fairly boring pilsner.

The bartender was very cheerful and knew a good deal about beer, and I’m not just giving her props because she waved away my money once she saw my notebook. She started me off with this one but apologetically indicated right away that it was a transition brew that they offer the Bud drinkers they get off the freeway. Actually the stuff is much better than Bud - no adjuncty grossness. No, this is all malt, clasic, clean lager with a decent malt in the nose , amber color, big head, and not much discernible flavour.

Very strange packaging: red and white cardboard milk cartons containing four plastic bottles similar to the kind MBC used in their Big Wheel biking promotional brew a few years back. The marketing is interesting - the beer is not.

A pretty decent offering from the Michigan Brewing Company. Very similar to Polander or Zywiec’s offering. Nice use of the Lublin hops to give this a nice, lightly bitter taste on the finish. Hamtramck is a small city next to Detroit that is famous for its Polish inhabitants. This beer supposedly sells quite well there and is making its way into stores througout Michigan. Interestingly, the Michigan Brew Co. is putting this out in 4-packs of plastic bottles. The beer tasted fine from the bottle. A nice, light offering.
