33cl Ebeltoft local, ved stranden. Charmingly old-fashioned label, as if pre-aged or stonewashed for added datedness. Taste and style are in the same category of 80s international lager: thin cardboard malts carrying stale honey caramels receive a faint Saaz bite, towards dusty dryness. Above average hop presence, otherwise blandish as expected, if a fair leverpostej pairing. / Gave this a miss as an alias of/at Ris Ras.

Draught@Ørsted Ølbar in lager glass@approx 6 degrees. Pours dark yellow with quickly disappearing white head. Quite a pleasant surprise. I am not a great fan of the the very recognizable Hancock mix of malt and hops, but in this glass it actually made sense with malty aroma followed by a rounded full taste of malt, roasted malt, caramel and faint hops. It all ends with a long lasting malty, bitter aftertaste. Best Hancock yet as far as I am concerned.

UPDATED: FEB 7, 2015 Høker Bajer: Clear pale grey’ish or strawy golden, off white big hue, failing attempts on lacing. Aroma; grains, wort, grey malts, grass, natural and clean. Taste; malts, caramel, wort, bread, grassy hops, leaves, butter, faint butterscotch - which made me look at label, which says "Saazer Humle". "Brewed with barley malts, starch, Saaz hops, and carbonation added. Antioxidant is ascorbic acid." Smooth on palate, normal to fresh pilsener carbonation. Finishes with grainy, worty malts in the grass, with few notes of salty butter. Seems to be a czech svetly made in Denmark. Quite alright! [33cl brown bottle, 5%abv, B@Liva Kolding, BB17.03.15, T@Middelfart’14]
