BeerViking (1421) - Lüneburg, Lower Saxony, GERMANY - MAY 10, 2013
Bottle bought from Høkeren in Copenhagen, pours a dark red-brown with almost no head and a sweetish nose with hints of tart cherries, old barrels and golden syrup, and just a faint smokiness. Rich sweet body, with notes of dark dried fruit, demerara sugar, old barrel-aged wine and caramel toffee. Aftertaste is dry-sweet with hop bitterness and a musty note.

Tap at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. Poured a dark brown colour with a reddish hue and a round glass hugging head. The aroma is malty with a little fruit. The flavour is liqourice bitter with some coffee. The palate is a little watery. Drinkable, but not a classic.

StoutHead (230) - DENMARK - MAR 9, 2013
Bottle. Pours a beautiful clear deep red color with a small off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, raisins and other fruits. Taste is vinous and sweet and of the same as the aroma. Body is above medium. Aftertaste is long and bitter with lingering notes of caramel, raisins and malt. Not bad - especially at the price. ;-)

Bamsen78 (819) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - MAR 8, 2013
Bottle. Pours slightly hazy dark amber with airy light tan head. Clear aroma of malt with a touch of caramel. Malty, slightly roasty taste with distinct caramel notes. You can taste the alcohol but given the ABV, its flavour is actually rather discreet. Not bad!

On tap at Høkeren - Thanks Gyda! Pours a clear dark brown with an off-white head. Sweet with aromas of dark sugars, rugbrød and caramel. Also some caramel malt aromas. Medium to full bodied. Medium carbonation. Long rugbrød finish with some bitterness.

Polecam

CanCrusher (309) - Ilirska Bistrica, SLOVENIA - JAN 11, 2013
Bottle 0,33L. Dark amber colour, with small light brown head. Intensive aroma raisins and similar dried dark fruits, roasted malts, caramel, brown sugar. I was suprised by bitterness, because I didn’t expected that much bitterness for this style of beer. This bitterness is nicely combined with taste of dried fruits, full body and oily texture. Alcohol is well hidden.

KoNrRiI (223) - Århus, DENMARK - SEP 24, 2012
0.33 bottle. Dark perfectly brown color, head is tanned and dissipates in a matter of seconds. Moderately sweet malty aroma with some hop additions, citrus, some spruce and grassy notes, also alcoholic scent is present but that is pardonable at this alcohol content level. Taste is strong and definite, sweet with noticeable sourness and a delicate bitterness, slightly off-balance. Nice full body, thick texture and flat carbonation. Finish is very nicely balanced, somewhat spicy and unfortunately short. Overall the beer is great, it has a few drawbacks and comes short when aroma is included but apart from that, it creates a splendid atmosphere and is simply tasty.
