2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle 33cl. Golden with no head. Sweet malty nose. Very rich but a bit too sweet for me. The high alcohol is disturbing the flavour. Medium lentgh. Good carbonization.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Reminds me of nisseøl. Is fairly heavy in flavor in the beginning, but because of the 9,6% in this "light" beer, it gets better as you go.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Even though heaps better than competitors like Elefant or Dortmunder, Old Gambrinus Light is not the masterpiece it’s hyped to be here in Denmark. It’s complex choice and blend of different hops is a bit of a genius though, and it is what makes this brew above average in the genre. The head vanishes too fast and the beer gets too tame on the palate too quickly. It’s a hefty brew make no mistake, but there’s no alcohol dominated taste at all, and that’s why it wins compared to other strong pilsner brews. It stays interesting til the end, but never blows me away. A very decent beer, in a genre that’s always impossible to master.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours clear amber with airy off-white head. Malty and grainy flavour, with touches of roast and, above all, alcohol. Sweet, malty flavour, with nut ty and grainy touches. Rough finish. Potent but OK. More like a Doppelbock than an SPL. Fortunately.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Flaske delt med skibsreder Ovesen: klar, gylden, med kort skum. Fruktig aroma, og en deilig trippel-aktig smak som en en belgier. En god, altwrnativ juleøl.

Clear and golden. Short-lasting head. Light and fruity pilsner aroma. Belgian triple and strong pilsner-like in taste.
