Bottle. A clear, copper beer wtih a finger-thick off-white to beige head. Malty-sweet and biscuity nose with some alcohol, caramel, a hint of molasses and some hops. Sweet and malty flavor with a molasses-like, or hvidtøl-like malty sweetness. Fine bitterness too, but less than expected or hoped for. Full-bodied and warming, rather sticky. Sweet finish with some bitterness. I find the beer to be a bit too much, with less hoppyness than expected from the name. A quite decent beer though. (090401)

Bottle @ chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2008. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy aroma with hints of caramel. Sweetish malty and fruity caramel flavor. Has a sweetish malty fruity finish with some hints of hops and caramel in the aftertaste.

Bottle at home. Redbrown with a small white head, quickly gone. Aroma heavy malty (caramel, roasted), medium hoppy. Flavor moderate to heavy sweet, medium bitter, in a fine balance. Almost full body, lots of alcohol. Very fine.

Bottle. Dark brown with medium brown head. Aroma dominated by malt and bread. Taste malty and bread with some underlaying hopps, good mouthfeel. A nice beer, much better than I had expected.

Endnu en dejlig øl fra Hancock. Og selvfølgelig en kraftig sag på 8,1 % Ville ønske at Hancock snart begav sig ud i en porter eller stout.

bottle, pours with a short lasting beige head on a beautyfull coffee colored beer with a red hue, aroma of coffee, liquorize and a little dark fruit. surprisingy no alcohol in the nose, excellent!! The flavor gives gentle impressions of again cafe, liquorize, and ripe dark fruits. the finish is fine balanced by earthy and spicy hop impressions, but to sweet for my liking. A really well made doppelbock from someone, who understands that this style needs time!

Some over ripe fruit in the aroma. Copper/ruby color. Lots of sweetness in there, dark fruit, a little vinous. The hops add to the fruitinsss, but there is not enough dryness here to balance it. Alcohol edge.
