Cask ísampleí @ the opening night of a new íSmoke Houseí near my house on the outskirts of Shrewsbury. Badged and described by staff as their own beer. It wasnít. Fobbed up out the glass. Weak, watery with brown bread, dirty malt and not a lot else. Boring brown bitter.

Hand-pulled pint in Restroom Number 2 on Cleethorpes railway station on 10th Nov 2012: Iím so out of touch I still thought this was brewed in Wales and not contracted out to whatever íCoorsí site needs some custom! Anyway the beer looked fine: light amber, old gold in colour with a good head of bubbles sat on top. Weak nose and watery feel to this session brew, but itís not all bad news: there is a hint of maltiness in the aroma and it comes out nicely within the taste as well. No great flavours but it isnít offensive or gagging in any way: just a fairly thin tasting session ale that could do with another handful of hops and malts thrown into the grist tub during the brewing process.

Perfectly pleasant serviceable session beer. Few bitter notes, more malty and some sweet barley sugar. Smooth. Quick finish.

On tap at Rummer Tavern in Cardiff. It had a light malty and bready taste. Also some flowers with a hint of hops. Mellow and smooth bitterness. Not as thin as expected, nice and smooth mouthfeel.
