COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Balanced and Resinous. Midwestern malted barley provides a pedestal for you to experience the flavor and aroma of the citrusy Northwestern hops which are the showcase of Hangar 24’s version of a true classic. An American Pale Ale. Additional Information: What makes Hangar 24 Pale Ale special is its smoothness. Carefully selected hops added at just the right times during the brewing process, including post fermentation, give a deep hop flavor without the coarse bitterness that some associate with pale ale.

A: The pour is a slightly hazed golden orange color with a finger or two of white had. S: Nice citrus hop aromas followed by a definite pine character. The piney hops are incredibly oily and resinous which you don’t often find in a pale ale. Some moderate malt notes of bread and biscuit malts. T: A nice flavor, but not quite as good as the nose. Not as much citrus and the pine is not as intense either. More toward the bready malt side of things with some grapefruit peel adding additional bitterness and maybe some floral notes. M: Medium in body with the carbonation on the high end of medium. O: Pretty decent pale ale, though it’s a bit too bitter without a ton of hop flavor.

Clean aroma of citrus and pine as well as light biscuity malts. The flavor is more hops. Not over the top bitterness, just a nice hops profile of citrus and pine as well as a nice biscuity backbone. Soft lingering hoppy resins. Really nice APA.

Sampled on 7/10/2011. This American Pale Ale pours a medium orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head, with decent lacing. The aroma is cereal, grapefruity and citrusy. A medium bodied American Pale Ale. The malts are caramel, fruity and sweet. The hops are herbal, citrusy and grapefruity. Decent carbonation. Very citrusy but not all that bitter. Crisp and clean. Light and refreshing. A very drinkable American Pale Ale. The mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean, dry and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter

Bottle. Quite light golden-amber with a decent head. What little aroma there is is light and grassy. This drinks with a definitive earthy feel, musty and dirty, yet light and easy drinking. Bring on a pulled pork sam’ich. (#3886, 4/21/2010)
