Balanced and Resinous. Midwestern malted barley provides a pedestal for you to experience the flavor and aroma of the citrusy Northwestern hops which are the showcase of Hangar 24’s version of a true classic. An American Pale Ale. Additional Information: What makes Hangar 24 Pale Ale special is its smoothness. Carefully selected hops added at just the right times during the brewing process, including post fermentation, give a deep hop flavor without the coarse bitterness that some associate with pale ale.

Rated from Keg I got for New Years. Pours a very clear golden color with a very nice head. Aroma is very nice and hoppy. Taste is malty and hoppy, very crisp. I could drink this stuff all day and will.....because I have a half keg left and its just me and my brother right now.

Type: 12-oz. bottle Glass: Firestone restaurant pint glass From: VONS in Normal Heights (San Diego), Calif. Price: $13.97 (with VONS card) for a variety 12-pack Purchased: June 1, 2013 Consumed: June 1, 2013 Misc.: N/A Poured a copper orange, rather clear color with about four fingers of frothy white head. Lots of bubbles coming up from the bottom. Lots of thick sporadic foamy lacing on the sides of the glass. Great thick and foamy retention all the way down. Initially smelled a mixture of orange , tangerine and lemon. Also butter, wheat, grass, honey and floral notes. Taste wasn’t quite like the nose. Seemed to taste bitter coffee notes. Some citrus notes (orange, faint grapefruit, lemon), pale ale notes (grainy grass, honey, wheat) and buttery malts. Light-to-medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Bitter, abrupt finish. Just didn’t like this beer. Not happy that I have three more in my variety 12-pack.

Pours golden with an orange tint, somewhat medium sized white head. Smells significantly of pine, followed by some citrus, grass and floral aromas, but predominantly pine. Flavor is heavily consistant with taste, pine dominates the other flavors at an unusual level. Usually citrus and grapefruit overtake pine in my opinion, but this is different in a good way. This may not be a favorite but I can’t help but love how this beer seprates and differentiates itself from the pack. Slightly over-carbonated.

12 oz bottle, out of the bottle. Aroma is a bit of malt and fresh hop notes. Taste is crisp caramel malt and nicely bitter piney hops. I wouldn’t describe them as "resinous" by any means, but... well hopped for a pale. Tasty and a nice pale.

Bottle to glass. Pours a slightly hazy amber orange color with a thin white head. Aroma has a light citrusy orange pear characteristic. Flavor is mildly bitter that disappears quickly in the finish. Funky aftertaste thats hard to describe. Not exactly pleasant. Light in body. A decent example of a pale, but nothing spectacular.

Another from Hophead22, thanks again! Pours a clear golden-orange color with an inch thick, fluffy off-white head that slowly receded and left some rings of lacing. Aroma of floral, resinous hops with some light hints of soft citrus (orange, tangerine) complimented with a touch of faint caramel. A lightly sweet entry quickly gives way to a crisp, dry floral hoppiness that presents some light, spicy pine notes that are paired with some soft citrus notes that linger into the moderately dry finish. Moderate carbonation and crisp bite on the palate. Overall, a simple, enjoyable pale ale that is probably better than the score I am giving it because I didn’t drink this bottle sooner. I will have to try to get a fresher bottle and re-rate.

UPDATED: MAY 8, 2009 Bottle thanks to DuffManSW. Clear gold pour with a 1 finger, frothy white head. Biscuit, bread, a light caramel notes come out in the aroma with a light balance of citrus and pine. Definitely more malt forward in the flavor too. There’s lots of biscuit and graham cracker with moderate hop bitterness and just a hint of phenol pepperiness. Thin body with lots of tingly carbonation.

Piney, catty aromas from a medium yellow body with a thin white head. Nice clean malt taste with balanced light hop bitterness which isn’t as strong as the aromas seemed to suggest. Finishes clean and slight sweet with an orange/citrus aftertaste. Easy drinking but tasty and interesting too.
