COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
IMMELMANN: An ascending half loop followed by a half roll resulting in level flight in the opposite direction at a higher altittude. Just as it takes consummate skill to perform the Immelmann maneuver in the air, it takes the choicest ingredients, patience and consummate skill to bring you our IMMELMANN, a Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Porter. This hand crafted beer is brewed with 2-row, Munich, Cara-Munich, Chocolate and Dark Chocolate Malts, Oats and Cocoa Nibs, along with whole Vanilla Beans. Aged in Bourbon Barrels for six months and blended with twenty percent fresh Porter to produce enticing aromas of chocolate, coffee, tobacco, bourbon and sweet malt along with a complex pallet of dark roast chocolate, oak and maple followed by a subtle vanilla finish. This is an intense, yet refined flavor experience to be savored today or aged to be enjoyed at your leisure.

2010 Bottle from HopHead22. Pours a black color with a thin head. Nose of whisky and roasted malts... Smells over powering. Taste is roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, oak notes and whisky/bourbon. The alcohol is noticable but not as powerfull as the nose. Medium body for a strong porter. Overall: Wish I would of let this sit for two more years to but still enjoyable.

Wow. At the 2012 Barrel Aged Beer Event. My other co-favorite of the day. Big vanilla taste and spirits from sip one to the end. Lots of chocolate notes and just very smooth on the tongue. Glad to finally get a taste of this and the rye whiskey barrel version.

750mL pouring at RBSG Grand Tasting. Pours a clear, deep maroon with larger yellow foam. Nose is big tomato paste, sugar cube, cake batter, bourbon, butter. Taste is cherry, sweet bourbon, spices, browned butter. Very sweet. Palate is silky rich, on the verge of cloying. Still, not bad.
