Bottle, courtesy wnoble, thanks! Pour is pitch black, tan head. Little retention, no lace. Good legs. Aroma of coconut, vanilla, dark chocolate, bourbon, oak, booze. Taste is sweet, vanilla, dark chocolate, oak, whiskey. Palate is soft, ultra creamy, sweet dark chocolate finish. Excellent.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Boozy aroma of charred oak, dark stone fruits (prunes as well perhaps), chocolate malt, caramel, and hints of vanilla. Sweeter in taste, but followed by bitter chocolate and booze. Smooth, heavy, full-bodied, and a long finish. Perhaps a little more age will smooth out the bourbon harshness a little more.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle:   December 2012:   Pours black, thin to moderate brownish head, frothy, little lacing.   Seems aged in a barrel alright!   Big caramel, toffee, sweet roasted malts, slight vanilla, dark chocolate, and
certainly Bourbon.   Huge Bourbon, vanilla, caramel, toffee, and roasted malts on the tongue.   If this is 16.5% ABV, its hid well.   Albeit warming, its not overly alcoholic.   I like this much better than Hammerhead.
Smooth on the tongue.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Many complain this is too hot, but I find this one rather enjoyable.   It certainly has some heat, but its balanced, and full of varying sweetness from
the bourbon, caramel, or vanilla.   Finishes with lots of Bourbon, caramel, graham cracker (forgot about that earlier), subtle vanilla, mild to dark chocolate, and just overall friggen awesome barrel aged goodness.   This is not
over the top, its not overly hot, its got everything I want in a BA stout.   How to improve on this, maybe make it more of a chocolate milkshake, but thats about it.   Yeah, its not Darkness, but this is badass and worthy of
Californias top 20 Imperial Stouts (if not higher).   Big thanks to OCBeerSociety for this wonderful gem!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is extremely rich, with loads of bourbon, booze, vanilla, and chocolate. Flavour is extremely rich and potent, with loads of vanilla, bourbon, wood, booze and chocolate. Extremely thick and syrupy, but somehow not cloyingly sweet. For such a high ABV beer, this is remarkably well balanced and not too boozy or sweet. Excellent.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
July 5, 2013 - bottle shared by Brett. Dark brown pour with very limited head. Aroma was chocolate, roasted malt, bourbon and black licorice. Taste was consistent with aroma, but I am just not a huge fan of the black licorice.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
2012 bottle. Pours a viscous black with almost no head; it coats the inside of the tulip with an oily sheen. Very boozy aroma with chocolate, molasses, and some anise. Decadent chocolate (reminiscent of a fudge-coated brownie), is the dominant taste with some black licorice, vanilla, heavy roasted malt, and a ton of hot bourbon. Slick, heavy texture that coats the mouth. Fantastic stout and a beautiful sipper; I only wish I had another bottle to cellar for a few years to let some of the heat die down.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours an opaque, very dark brown with a short, caramelized-colored head. Coconutty, powder cocoa, oak, vanilla, and bourbon on the nose. Mouthfeel is a bit thin for the style, but not unpleasant. Flavors of coconut, hazelnut, chocolate, vanilla, and oak. Quite boozy. The alcohol is pretty overwhelming. Still a pretty good brew.

4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
On tap at Crazy Harrys. This beer pours like a melted chocolate. Deep and dark with a thickness like no other. The head was minimal, to be expected with this style and the nose was rich with complexity. Hints of dark chocolate, lots of bourbon and oakyness. Incredible beer. A must have for dark beer lovers.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
After having one other barrel roll and not being impressed I was hoping this wouldnít let me down and, it didnít. A treat. The pour is dark black with a filthy brown head. The nose is just like I like a bourbon stout to be, booze bomb. Big vanilla, chocolate, licorice, whiskey, coffee, toffee, coconut, cherries, leather. The taste is high sweet and low bitter with a nice sweet finish. The texture is silky smooth, creamy, big body and a long finish. Really good beer.
