On tap at Crazy Harrys. This beer pours like a melted chocolate. Deep and dark with a thickness like no other. The head was minimal, to be expected with this style and the nose was rich with complexity. Hints of dark chocolate, lots of bourbon and oakyness. Incredible beer. A must have for dark beer lovers.

2013 Black with tan head that dissipates. Bittersweet and milk chocolate, pronounced hazelnut, earthy espresso that carries into a long dry finish. Very faint heat for a beer this size.

750mL bottle, 2011 vintage. Poured inky black with just a ring of dark brown head. The aroma was intense.. well-roasted bakerís chocolate, licorice, and vanilla bean led, with sweeter chocolates, coffee, and yummy bourbon beneath.. peppery bourbon warmth on the back of the nose.. really nice! The flavor opened with anise and sharp-ish bourbon, with softer oak and a whole heap of roasted coffee and maple syrup behind.. bourbon and black roast emanated outward.. spicy and warm, with lots of dry coffee, cocoa, and licorice roast on the long, belly-warming finish. Heavy-bodied with low carbonation.. dry and a hair grainy.. this was a massive brew, and I loved it!

Sample @ RBWG, Asheville. Thanks to whoever provided this! Glad to finally try this. Deep brown with a large tan head. Very expressive fudge brownie sweetness on the nose. Hersheyís syrup. Some roast coffee. Slight acidic coffee tang with accents of raisins and dark fruits. Hot chocolate syrup. Slightly boozy. Full body, rich and oily. Great stuff.

Draft at Imbibe Wine (16.5%ABV). Nose is chocolate, rye whiskey, oaky vanilla, and a hint of coffee. Black with a small tan head. Flavor is chocolate, light sweetness, and of course the woody vanilla notes.

75cl Bottle, generously shared by PotjeBier, thanks Potje! 15.8% version, 2012. Black, no head. Aroma of lots of bourbon, sweet booze, toasted coconut, roasted malts, chocolate, some ash. Flavour is sweet, bourbon, lots of oak, vanilla, toasted coconut, some chocolate, liquorice, coffee, quite hot and boozy, roasted malts, firm roast bitterness in the finish. Lush, tasty beer. A bit hot, but really nice.

Bottle pours black with this brief tan head despite an aggressive pour. Huge bourbon, chocolate and coffee on the nose. Taste matches aroma with dark malts, bourbon, coffee, chocolate, dark fruits. Palate a bit on the thin side, really the only drawback. Soft carbonation, heavy alcohol burn. Finish bourbon. This is very boozy and I love it. Really enjoyed this one.

Was able to bring a beer for Bytemesis to try that he had not yet had, and enjoyed - glad I could pay 1 back. Excellent aroma, full of bourbon, stout and sweetness. The flavour also has a slight kick to it in terms of spicyness, the only slight on the beer, that it has maybe a bit too light body. Exceptional beer.

Bottle: The aroma consists of big milk chocolate, maple syrup, molasses, light dark fruits, vanilla, and bourbon. It pours a dark brown with no transparency and a small beige head that quickly fades to a very fine ring. The flavor starts with moderate-heavy chocolate, maple syrup, light molasses, and a touch of dark fruits. The finish has stronger maple syrup, vanilla, light coconut, bourbon, and a touch of roast. Itís full bodied mild carbonation and a slightly sticky mouthfeel. Overall, barrel aged Imperial Stouts that get that maple syrup character are right up my alley.
