4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 danrcook (20) - California, USA - MAY 14, 2013
On tap at Crazy Harrys. This beer pours like a melted chocolate. Deep and dark with a thickness like no other. The head was minimal, to be expected with this style and the nose was rich with complexity. Hints of dark chocolate, lots of bourbon and oakyness. Incredible beer. A must have for dark beer lovers.

After having one other barrel roll and not being impressed I was hoping this wouldn’t let me down and, it didn’t. A treat. The pour is dark black with a filthy brown head. The nose is just like I like a bourbon stout to be, booze bomb. Big vanilla, chocolate, licorice, whiskey, coffee, toffee, coconut, cherries, leather. The taste is high sweet and low bitter with a nice sweet finish. The texture is silky smooth, creamy, big body and a long finish. Really good beer.

Thanks to Hophead22 for this one in trade. Cheers! Pours a medium stout brown with a tan head. Nose is milk chocolate, marshmallow, smores, wood, and boooooooooze. Flavor is a bourbon-soaked smore with extra goodness. I also get chocolate, vanilla, mega mondo bourbon and coconut. Lots of love in this medium to full-bodied stout. Wow. Finishes with bourbon, vanilla, and coconut. Wow again at 16.5%.

750 ml bottle shared by bsuedekum- thanks again, Blake! It was getting late in the day at Dark Lord Day 2012, but I loved this one. Pours a very dark opaque brown with almost no head. Great barrel notes merge with a solid base beer; oak, bourbon, vanilla, tons of chocolate and fudge, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, and a hint of dried, dark fruits. Medium-full bodied, with a smooth, sweet mouthfeel and mild carbonation. Great.

Deep dark pour with a nice rich chocolate colored head. Aroma hits with bourbon, brownies, vanilla, some nice roast. Flavor is rich and decadent. Loads of bourbon, fudge, vanilla, roasty notes. Alcohol is hidden remarkably well.

Thanks to bman113vr for sharing this bottle at bu11zeye’s 10,000th rating tasting.
The beer pours a dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma is awesome. I get a ton of bourbon and raisins, as well as some chocolate and roasted malt. The flavor is just as good, with a ton of barrel-aged character such as oak, whiskey, maple and vanilla. There is also a load of roasted malt and chocolate. Thick mouthfeel and low carbonation. An excellent barrel-aged Russian imperial stout. Very glad I got to try this one.
