Rich and decadent. This strong porter is perfect for sipping at the end of the day or to accompany full-flavored foods. The intense, roasty flavor comes from two types of chocolate malt and raw cocoa nibs. Whole vanilla beans introduced post fermentation add complexity and enhance the dessert-like qualities of this full bodied beer. Indulge yourself! Additional Information: This beer began life as our Panamanian Porter with the flavors of chocolate, vanilla and banana. A truly unique beer, we felt that all those flavors needed some smoothing out so we changed yeast strains and eliminated the banana flavor (Which came from the yeast strain). The Panamanian Porter did have many fans however, and there may be plans in the future to bring it back for a special occasion. Stay tuned…

Bottled: unk brown, excellent clarity and a surface etched with light dirty cream foam. Nose is almost spicy with malts and some hops (noble) with a bit of cocoa, but no vanilla. Taste has roasted malts with a bit of sweet rye and some cheap base malt oxidation - a truly uneventful mouthful. Thin with sharp, yet fleeting carb and an off dry finish. Meh. Good chocolate and vanilla presence, mouthfeel is creamy and aftertaste is a light dark chocolate bitterness. However aroma is boozy as is the taste a bit. I've had better chocolate porters but not too bad.

Bottle. Pours clear ruby black with a small tan head that dissipates quickly with some lacing. Aroma is roasty, ashtray, cocoa. Flavor is much the same, medium sweet with a definite milk-chocolate overtone touch of vanilla, light bitterness, not enough to counteract the sweetness fully. A bit artificial tasting, actually. Medium body. Definitely drinkable, but nothing special here.

Bottle. Deep brown. Thin, off-white head. Aroma is light for a porter. Taste is surprisingly strong alcohol taste.

The aroma is less than what is expected for the quality. I would like a darker hue for what can be considered an imperial. Taste is balanced and clean. Very pleasant to the palate. Overall a nice brew.

Bottle pour. A little chocolate Porter tonight! A really good chocolate aroma and subtle chocolate and coffee taste! Solid brew.

22oz bottle in a tulip. Pours very dark brown with a lacy, light beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, some light smoky/coffee notes, chocolate, a little dough, and some light bitterness. Flavor the same. Average texture. A pretty good beer.

Wonderful smell – like deep deep dark chocolate. I could spend all day smelling this. Pours clear reddish brown, looks a little thin. A little bit on the bitter side, could do with some sweetness, but it goes well with the dark chocolate smell. Feels a little thin on the tongue, no significant carbonation.

Thin brown with lots of aroma and flavor but the thin character takes away from it. Flavor is a lot of cocoa and vanilla. Too much really. Some licorice and coffee. Alittle dusty and dry. Didn’t really get any banana talked about in the description.

Pours a thin looking brown with an almost white head that fades to a ring pretty fast. Aromas of chocolate (obviously) but also some nice cigarette butt elements. Pretty chitl. I do love me some cigarette butt taste in my porters, although I prefer them to be in Baltic Porters, they work quite well here as well. Finishes slightly sweet with a dusting of cocoa powder. Nice.
