COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Assertive and drinkable. Double IPA is California’s gift to beer lovers. Ours is brewed with four distinctly American hops: Centennial, Citra, Columbus and Simcoe, all beautifully balanced by five malts and generous additions of local orange blossom honey. An intense sensory experience — the fresh aroma of citrus, pine and grapefruit with the bold taste of hops and sweet honey. Additional Information: This beer was first brewed to celebrate American Craft Beer Week in 2010. The Double IPA style is distinctly American, and so are the flavors of the specific hops used. This beer was an instant hit (Southern Californians do love their hops!) and we plan on brewing it throughout the year whenever our production schedule allows it.

Bottle. Pours a hazy, orange color with a nice, frothy head. Tangy aroma with some grapefruit in the background. Nice, hoppy taste. Kind of chewy. But good tart in there. Not complex. Decent brew.

Apeearance was cloudy floatys orange gold with creamy off white lasting 2 finger head, rings of lacing. Aromas are citrus, tropical fruits, sweet malts with touch of honey and alcohol. Taste are orange, lemon, grapefruit, pine, melon with sweet malt backbone and hints of honey, alcohol is soft. Palate was smooth creamy CO2 with medium-full body, then a lasting fruity sweet balanced wonderful finish. A good west coast IPA.

22oz bottle, thanks kmweaver. Large off-white head atop hazy light amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, pine, grapefruit, some dank. Taste is moderately sweet, intensely hoppy -- pine, grapefruit, some dank, light pineapple, light alcohol. Light alcohol burn (or is that hop burn) in the finish. Resinous medium-full body.

Had on draft at Smoke Eaters. This looks like orange juice, super cloudy. Big hop presence, grassy, citrusy, tropical fruits. It is very tasty and the hops are great.

Bottle. Pours hazy golden amber with a small creamy white head that slowly dissipates with nice lacing on the glass. Aroma has notes of grapefruit and pine, a bit of a tropical note as well. Flavor is lightly sweet, yes there is a honey note in there, and quite bitter, with bitterness lingering to the far finish, although the bitterness diminishes with time. Medium bodied, a bit oily in the mouth. Some warming on the finish. Nice effort.

Pours cloudy golden straw with a small white head and good lacing. Aromas of grapefruit and spruce with some honey on the back end. Good carbonation and smooth flavor that’s balanced but still hoppy enough to be a solid IPA. Very good.

On tap at Mohawk Bend, pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma of floral hops galore, grass and some biscuity malts. Flavour brings out loads of floral hops, like a meadow, lots of grass, and some biscuity malts. Good stuff, but overrated.
