COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Assertive and drinkable. Double IPA is California’s gift to beer lovers. Ours is brewed with four distinctly American hops: Centennial, Citra, Columbus and Simcoe, all beautifully balanced by five malts and generous additions of local orange blossom honey. An intense sensory experience — the fresh aroma of citrus, pine and grapefruit with the bold taste of hops and sweet honey. Additional Information: This beer was first brewed to celebrate American Craft Beer Week in 2010. The Double IPA style is distinctly American, and so are the flavors of the specific hops used. This beer was an instant hit (Southern Californians do love their hops!) and we plan on brewing it throughout the year whenever our production schedule allows it.

Bottle from mikem409. Pours a murky opaque blond-amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is pine and lots of grapefruit, some tropical fruit as well, with a cracker-like malt background. Taste is medium sweet, medium bitter, some more grapefruit coming through as well as passion fruit. Finish is bitter and fruity. Quite tasty.

22oz bottle in a tulip. Pours cloudy orange/golden with a lacy, white head. Aroma of some floral and citrusy hops, some caramel, light honey, and a pale malt note. Flavor the same, a little hoppier than the smell would have led one to believe. Average texture. A decent double IPA.

22 ounce bottle purchased at Nugget in Woodland. The aroma on this is pretty faint in terms of hops. Almost some stale hop character. A little herbal, and a little lemony, otherwise just a light sweetness is present. Slightly hazy golden-orange body with a small white head present. Starts with mostly sweet maltiness. Light herbal hop flavors are also present. Becomes a little chewy in the middle, before it becomes rather warming and ethanolic towards the end. A harsh bitterness comes through later on, which is accentuated by the usage of honey. Not a huge fan of this beer at all.

Bottle. Pours a hazy, orange color with a nice, frothy head. Tangy aroma with some grapefruit in the background. Nice, hoppy taste. Kind of chewy. But good tart in there. Not complex. Decent brew.

Apeearance was cloudy floatys orange gold with creamy off white lasting 2 finger head, rings of lacing. Aromas are citrus, tropical fruits, sweet malts with touch of honey and alcohol. Taste are orange, lemon, grapefruit, pine, melon with sweet malt backbone and hints of honey, alcohol is soft. Palate was smooth creamy CO2 with medium-full body, then a lasting fruity sweet balanced wonderful finish. A good west coast IPA.

22oz bottle, thanks kmweaver. Large off-white head atop hazy light amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, pine, grapefruit, some dank. Taste is moderately sweet, intensely hoppy -- pine, grapefruit, some dank, light pineapple, light alcohol. Light alcohol burn (or is that hop burn) in the finish. Resinous medium-full body.
