Assertive and drinkable. Double IPA is California’s gift to beer lovers. Ours is brewed with four distinctly American hops: Centennial, Citra, Columbus and Simcoe, all beautifully balanced by five malts and generous additions of local orange blossom honey. An intense sensory experience — the fresh aroma of citrus, pine and grapefruit with the bold taste of hops and sweet honey. Additional Information: This beer was first brewed to celebrate American Craft Beer Week in 2010. The Double IPA style is distinctly American, and so are the flavors of the specific hops used. This beer was an instant hit (Southern Californians do love their hops!) and we plan on brewing it throughout the year whenever our production schedule allows it.

On draft. Hazy orange gold with one finger head. Honey, lemon, pine aroma. More piney on the taste, but there is still honey. Pretty interesting.

Can’t recall what crap store I bought this at near Disneyland. This beer, however, isn’t crap. Sweet orange, peach and lemon, caramel and honey. Pine and more honey stuff. Mellow with a pepper bite. Just enough sweetness and a subdued tangy lingering aftertaste. orange, honey, pepper and pine, resin, caramel, multigrain crust, biscuit, more orange, more honey and more orange and honey. Stellar brew.

2/21/15 from 22 oz bomber. Pleasant enough aroma but not strong or piney. A bit out of balance on the malty side. Needs better aroma hops and less buttering. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

B hazy golden. Citrus hops and alcohol in the nose. Boozy and floral and citrus. Sticky hops but alcohol seems too much for the base. Not bad but not the best.

Bottle. Light hazy deep golden liquid with medium off-white head. Aroma of lemon peel, mango, bread, light caramel, grapefruit and weed. Taste is light sweet and medium to high bitter with notes of mango, lemon peel, bread and light caramel. Medium bodied with medium to high carbonation. Quite nice.

No retention and medium lacing. Very hazy, looks like a hefeweizen. Smells of fruit juice, grapefruit and malt. Tastes of pine, grapefruit and malt. Medium-bitter finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

March 3rd, 2013 - Hangar 24’s Double IPA is next in line, promising a huge cargo full of hops and flavor. And it delivers (on time, now boarding for Flavor Country.) Murky and deep orange, it looks like a geyser after the pour, bubbles venting to the top. The aroma is fresh and incredible Springy, redolent of mizuna bitter greens, miring, honey and orange - intoxicating and powerful. The flavor resembles the aroma in strength and flavor, with more bitter greens offering a vegetal permutation of hops bitterness, orange and Meyer lemon for a rusty sweetness, and strawberry to top it off with a nice dollop of dessert. Given the Spring weather and the unfurling of leaves, blossoms and winter garb here in San Diego, this beer came along in a timely fashion, delivering me straight to the tropics in luxury.

Bottle from Whole foods here in Campbell California. POURED small head with little spotty lace. Great grapefruit flavor with a good malty body. ABV NOT TASTED BUT WARMING. GREAT
