3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
March 3rd, 2013 - Hangar 24’s Double IPA is next in line, promising a huge cargo full of hops and flavor. And it delivers (on time, now boarding for Flavor Country.) Murky and deep orange, it looks like a geyser after the pour, bubbles venting to the top. The aroma is fresh and incredible Springy, redolent of mizuna bitter greens, miring, honey and orange - intoxicating and powerful. The flavor resembles the aroma in strength and flavor, with more bitter greens offering a vegetal permutation of hops bitterness, orange and Meyer lemon for a rusty sweetness, and strawberry to top it off with a nice dollop of dessert. Given the Spring weather and the unfurling of leaves, blossoms and winter garb here in San Diego, this beer came along in a timely fashion, delivering me straight to the tropics in luxury.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
"Tropical fruit, citrus and a bit of grass greet the nose. Light in color, medium bodied. Easy drinking for a strong and flavorful beer. Stood up to Hop 15 pretty well, so kudis there. Flavor matches the aroma. Not a ton of depth, but very very very tasty, with a lingering finish."

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Flaske: Lysegul diset øl med et flot skumhoved. Masser af proteinklumper trækker dog ned på udseendet. Ellers moderne IPA med ed smule citrus, tropisk frugt og masser af friskhed uden så megen bitterhed. God øl.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from a 22 oz bottle into a snifter. Hazy, pale straw color. Creamy, white head dissipates in a few minutes. The nose is citrus and resin, not real powerful like some double IPA’s (was hoping for more). Nice, strong bitter and lively carbonation. Medium body and a very long finish with swells of bitter making a repeated appearance. Well balanced and very easy to drink. You won’t be disappointed.

Tastes of grapefruit citrus, tropical fruit, mangoes, sweet fruit, piney and floral hops. Medium body with a semi-dry finish. Juicy mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Hides the ABV well. Nicely done DIPA.
