thanks to Tim for the bottle. From the moment I read about this beer I REALLY wanted to try it. This brewery does awesome fruit additions in beer and the combination with a double IIPA seemed like a perfect fit. Bomber pours hazy orange with darker reddish hues and a big medium fluffy white head that laces well. The aroma is big and layered with citrus fruit, orange, acidic lemon and grapefruit with rind and zest as well. Flavor is big citrus again but there is a definite malt back bone creeping that balances things nicely. Some caramel, some doughy and pale. Nice through and through. The finish is a mixture of big juicy flavorful citrus hops and some hop bitterness that is in the realm of grapefruit or orange rind. Really nice beer, I hope they do this one again!

pours a amber copper color with a one finger off white head. aroma is of orange, grapefruit, some pine, sweet malts, and some caramel. Taste is well balanced with a lot of raw orange, blood orange, and grapefruit flavor, but also some tangerine an pine from the hops, some sweet malts, and some caramel malts. Has a medium full body with a nice creamy, chewy mouthfeel and a oily, slick, bitter, yet refreshing finish. Overall, a pretty tasty and very refreshing DIPA that is a nice break from the norm for the style.

Tap and a bomber bottle-June 2012 sampled at the brewery-pours lite hazy orange with a small white head with some lite lacing. flavors are huge oranges-really tastes like an orange juice ipa-more in the big naval oranges than say a tangerine type like two hearted. not much hop bitterness here however has a very lush body with nice mouthfeal-oily and medium carbonation. long finish and you can really taste the oranges. As for hte hops, i dont taste the ones they mentioned in the brew. Oranges overpower them maybe? nonetheless, its cool!
