This beer combines the rich, roasty flavors of a porter with those found in a traditional pumpkin pie. The complex aroma practically jumps from the glass. An intriguing mix of chocolate and spice… The flavor is robust with notes of dark chocolate, pumpkin pie and a caramel sweetness accentuated by a generous addition of molasses to the boil. The interplay of the cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and allspice gives this beer a very pleasant finish. Additional Information: The pumpkins used in this brew were grown at Larry Jacinto farms right down the street from the brewery. We were very excited when Larry told us that he had a great crop of pumpkins growing literally ˝ mile from the brewery. Once the pumpkins were seeded and quartered, we teamed up with the Gourmet Pizza shop in downtown Redlands to utilize their giant pizza oven to help roast all that pumpkin. This beer was a true community effort!

This poured a darker brown with a beige head. Aroma was of roasted malt, like Belgian yeast, and pumpkin flesh. Flavor was more fleshy than spicey, mainly a belgianesque Porter though.

Dark brown pour with small cream colored head. Aroma of malts, caramel, pumpkin, nutmeg, allspice and faint chocolate. Taste of toffee, vanilla, chocolate, caramel, nutmeg, cinnamon, pumpkin and bread dough. Full bodied, creamy mouthfeel, poorly balanced. A little cloying on the finish as well.

Pours a walnut-dark color. Light lacing, moderate, stable head. Interesting veggie-like aroma. Taste is mostly roasted pumpkin seeds, pretty good! Heavy mouthfeel, long aftertaste, long. Pretty good beer, the wife loved it!

On tap at Stein’s Beer Garden. Rich pumpkin and spice aroma. I notice the body before the taste: super smooth and rich. Taste is rich (yes, this is beer is rich) with pumpkin, light spice, and sweet malts. Not as sweet as one might expect overall. Very good.

So many aggressive pumpkin beers out there and, although solid, this one just doesn’t stand up. Dark copper/mahogany pour with a small eggshell head. Cinnamon, nutmeg, caramel, ginger, and allspice are noticeable authentic pumpkin flavors. Love the story in the deScription, just wish I could taste it. Still would have another...

This dark dark brown beer has a spicy aroma. It has a subtle pumpkin flavor upfront. It has a nutty finish and that slight spicy flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A very good pumpkin ale, without too much pumpkin. Pours a beautiful deep black with a thick white head. Smells of spices and a bit of pumpkin. Taste has just a hint of pumpkin in the start, replaced by chocolate milk and vanilla, with some spices and a bit of alcohol warmth in the finish. Had on tap at Sonoma Public House.
