This is a one-of-a kind beer brewed for the “cool” months of the Southern California winter. We blend together locally harvested spruce tips from Angelus Oaks, maple syrup from Wisconsin and cinnamon from Saigon in just the perfect amounts to complement each other. The base beer has a nice rich flavor of malt and caramel which combines with the spices for a very well balanced and delicious beer. Additional Information: This beer was first produced in December of 2009 and the response was so good that we’ve decided to brew it each winter!

On Tap at the brewery, pours amber in color with about an inch head. On the nose it has some pine notes with honey and some spice. It tastes of sweet malt with honey and spice and finishes clean. It stays on the palate but overall not too bad. I prefer hullabaloo more but this isn't bad for a winter beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A very good winter warmer. Pours a bright red-orange with a foamy head. Smells of maple syrup, apples, vanilla and cinnamon. Taste is quite sweet, with lots of maple syrup, berries, juniper and vanilla, and more syrup in the finish. Warms on the way down. A bit like Anderson Valley's Winter Solstice with more maple syrup. Had in the bottle.

Bottle... Pours hazy and burnt-orange with a small, creamy, off-white head. The aroma features toffee, toasted tree nuts, caramel, a vinous note of port and a trace of bread dough. Full-bodied with modest carbonation. Lightly sweet, nutty flavor and lightly bitter finish. Very nice. Bottle courtesy of richiesd!

Pour is a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma is at first a nice spruce that give this a wintergreen smell. Also some cinnamon and other various spices are detected. Flavor is a decent spice with more of the spruce showing. Reminds me of a evergreen forest. Pretty good beer. Everything in a winter warmer you are looking for. Not overly spiced or heavy just a jumble of flavors that get better as the beer warms.

A nice spiced winter warmer with hints of maple, spicy cinnamon sticks, evergreen, toffee, and brown sugar. Nothing extremely memorable but undoubtedly enjoyable.

Sampled on 1/2/2015. This spiced beer pours a deep copper color from a 22oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head, with decent retention and nice lacing. The aroma is malty and sweet, with some spruce/pine and cinnamon. A medium bodied spiced ale. The malts are caramel and fruity. The hops are herbal and earthy. Decent carbonation. There is a little too much cinnamon and not enough maple for my tastes, but it is a nice sipping beer. Nice beer for a cold winter evening. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Very enjoyable. A very quaffable winter warmer-type beer. A bit lighter than expected, but the ABV is notched down too. I like this one.

Amber pour. Aroma is spruce and pine. Rich caramel body, light maple syrup but strong spruce tree, now maple would really help this but it’s not too bad on a cold rainy day.

"A winter warmer had on a June evening, but it still hit the spot. It had it faults, but was still very nice. Mahogony pour, good body but the abv doesn’t show at all. Intense aroma of spruce and cinnamon. Similar flavor with a rich malty backbone. I’d have loved to trade a little of the cinnamon spice for more maple, as it was barely noticeable, but otherwise a GREAT beer."

Amber pour, small off white head. I get cinnamon, caramel, hops and light spice. What lacks is the maple. And the bitter finish I didn’t expect and didn’t love. Not a poorly crafted beer at all, but this just doesn’t quite hit the spot for me.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy amber orange with thick white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is caramel, spice, and fruit. Medium mouthfeel with strong caramel and sweet fruit.
