COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a one-of-a kind beer brewed for the “cool” months of the Southern California winter. We blend together locally harvested spruce tips from Angelus Oaks, maple syrup from Wisconsin and cinnamon from Saigon in just the perfect amounts to complement each other. The base beer has a nice rich flavor of malt and caramel which combines with the spices for a very well balanced and delicious beer. Additional Information: This beer was first produced in December of 2009 and the response was so good that we’ve decided to brew it each winter!

Bottle. Pours a foggy mahogany color with a nice thin head. Very sweet aroma. Brown sugar is very real in this. Amazing taste. Roasted malt, with a strong sense of brown sugar and some hops. Great brew for a cold day.

Bomber from Total Wine - Sacramento. Pours hazy copper with a slight beige head. Warm, moderately dark fruits aromas. Near full bodied. Flavor is cinnamon, maple, fresh something. Maybe fresh light stone fruit. Might be a hint of twiginess. Pretty nice drink. Finishes "fresh" - not exactly bitter, not exactly sweet. Sort of nice fresh fruit.

22oz bomber pours with a clear amber body with copper hues and supporting a light tan head of foam. The aroma is very spruce and coriander like with sharp maple notes in the background. The taste is full of spruce and coriander like spices and yeasty spices followed up by sweet malts and a bit of sweet maple syrup.

Very subtle aroma of burnt sugar and caramel. Cloudy copper/brown appearance with no foam. Very sweet flavors of ginger, cinnamon, brown sugar and burnt caramel. Hops are evident on the finish. Overall, pretty basic beer with some sweet overtones.

Bottle from KegNBottle (NC): Appeared as a light amber hue with a slight tint of brown and mahogany while an average size of head that started out thick but then quickly broke down to a thin patchy film cover. Aroma is faint yet has a strange smell to it that I cant recall what it reminds me of but it is not a smell I particularly like, however, there is only a minor notice with absolutely no chance of maple syrup. I blame a long shelf life—but in Hangar’s defense this was a beer recipe that had potential for aging so I do not blame them like I do other breweries who refuse to take back their old expire inventory aging for years in most every single liquor store out there. After taking my first sip I almost need to take back what I said about the aroma because there is supporting evidence of the sweet maple syrup along with dashes of cinnamon. Not a whole lot of flavor happening here and again, the shelf life of this beer has erased what traces of spruce or cinnamon it originally had.
