COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
ORANGE WHEAT Crisp, Tart, and Refreshing. Whole locally grown oranges added throughout the brewing process perfectly compliment this unfiltered wheat and barley based beer. Our oranges are purchased through the Old Grove Orange company (affiliate of the non-profit Inland Orange Conservancy) whose main objectives are to save the local orange trees from disappearing, spread the word about the local citrus growing heritage, and to feed the hungry with the unutilized oranges. Please visit them at www.inlandorange.org. All we need to do to save the orange trees is to eat locally grown oranges!

[ Trade by JohnC ]. Light unclear light yellow colour with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is light moderate malty, citrus - lemon - lime, light moderate yeasty, light coriander - ginger. Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, citrus, soapy citrus, dry, peppery notes. IMO a bit like a saison ! Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20110606]

Bottle, 24oz. A hazy one, yellow in color, and topped by a ginger-thick white head. The aroma is mostly zesty, with a faint touch of pale malts. Rather zesty flavor too, some sweetness and malts blends in, and there’s a little bitterness as well. Medium body, soft carbonation, and an orangey finish. Sure a decent one, but it fails to impress, being too one-dimensional. 130804

A: The pour is a very light and very cloudy yellow sort of color with a white head. S: A very strong aroma of bitter orange peels and some slightly sweet and slightly sour wheat. T: The same intense orange peel character is there providing quite a bit of bitterness and astringency. The base beer is pretty much your usual mediocre, slightly sour pale wheat ale you find at brewpubs. M: The body is light with a high level of carbonation. D: Not a fan of this one, but for some reason it sells really well around here.

Bottle… Cloudy, straw-colored ale with a small, creamy, white head. Good retention. The bouquet is of fresh orange peel, pale malt and wheat. Light to medium-bodied with a skim-milk mouthfeel and jazzy carbonation. This beer is nearly perfectly balanced – I’m not picking up on the cloying sweetness that earlier ratings have notated. Maybe a different batch. I’m just getting moderate pale grain sweetness balanced perfectly by hop and orange pith bitterness. Short, crisp, refreshing finish. Thanks a ton to DuffManSW for shipping this wheat beer my way!
