Spring! A time of renewal. Renew your taste buds with our “California style” Spring Beer, a unique fusion of a hoppy wheat beer brewed with a blended fermentation of Belgian and American yeast. Pours a hazy gold with a thick, white head. Floral hop aromas abound, complemented by the taste of tangy wheat and spicy Belgian yeast notes with a bitter, slightly sweet, bready finish. Additional Information: For our first Seasonal 4-pack, we decided to create something one of a kind. This beer was fermented in two separate batches, one using a traditional American Ale yeast and the other using a Belgian Wit yeast. The two finished beers were then blended to create an extra layer of complexity and flavor. We also used two new hop varieties: Bravo & Calypso. These hops add a wonderful tropical fruit and pear character to our CSB.

This beer pours cloudy gold. It has a mild citrusy hop aroma. It is rather mild with a hint a bitterness in the aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour is a hazy copper orange with a beige head and larger bubbles throughout. Nose is faint, light herbal and citrus notes, fair spice with light yeast and banana notes. Taste is a bit muted, decent coriander spice and lemony banana notes, light hop finish herbal and citrus. Assertive carbonation, oily slick feel, syrupy and heavy on the tongue and incredibly short finish.

Hazy golden colored, moderate head, some lace/retention. Aroma is wheat dominated with notes of clove, lightly floral, light bread. Lighter bodied, wheat flavor dominates with a rough feel.

Slightly cloudy amber coloured body with a copper glow and a very thin, fast-dying tan head. Aroma of fresh grapefruit and slightly piney hops, some light acidic notes and a touch of malt. Light-bodied; Sharp hop pellet flavour with a kick of citrus and lemons in particular. Aftertaste is pretty mild with a hint of the hops, a decent amount of the citrus and only a smudge of the funky malt flavour. Overall, not such a great beer - a few decent flavours, but nothing complex or inspirational. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Olive Tree Market Place in San Diego, California on 01-May-2012 for US$1.89 sampled at home in Washington on 07-July-2012.

Thanks to elnadeau for sharing this bottle with me. I guess I’m against the grain on this one. To me, this beer was dry, lemony and it just wasn’t my thing.
