Copper colored pour with an off-white head. Nose of fruit, bread, and toasted malt. Slight nuttiness, a bit of yeast, very mild roast and chocolate. Some earthy and spicy hops, too. The flavor is mostly sweet bread and toffee malt. Some light hop bitterness, a bit of earth, spice, and roast. A mild chocolate flavor, some nuts, and a bit of water.

Bottle from Bine & Vine. Pours dark copper with a slight foamy yellow/beige head. Aroma is light roast malt with mild spice. Med body. Flavor has a hint of chocolate, then light caramel, mild roastiness, and enough bitterness to make it drinkable. Its flavorful, but far from imperially so. Good drinkin beer for the winter.

Medium brown pour. I like the sweet malts, a hint of peat, some roasted nuts. Almost a hint of pine nuts. Enough hops to offer good balance. Good grain bill. Enjoyable beer.

Tap at the brewery. Clear deep amber pour. Beige foam. Nose is malty, raw, caramel, fairly neutral. Taste is soapy, dusty, dry, quite tannic. Papery finish. Eh. Spotty lace.

Sample at Kinetic Brewing Company. Murky reddish-brown in color with a medium beige head that recedes slowly. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of earthy malt, caramel and hops. Medium-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, hops and a touch of dark fruit. The finish is sweet malt up front and leaves a hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.

On tap at the source. Pours with a crystal clear bronze hued body with a medium sized off-white head. Aromas are malty, lightly earthy, toasty, medium caramel, and a bit of a distracting roast. Low ester. Flavors are quite roasty for the style, slightly watery, medium malt, toasted, caramel. Medium carbonation. Misses the mark a touch for me.

12oz bottle pours with a nearly clear amber sort of copper body that supports a thin tan head. The aroma offers up roasted malts, toasted bread, some spicy notes and mild sweet dark fruity esters. The taste starts with malts, roasted malts, big roasty nuttiness and then some modest spiciness. Wow. This has lots of nuttiness going on, its pretty nice.

Bottle@ trailer. Bright bronze color with ivory head. Toast, nutty, dark bread, earthy aromas. Smooth medium mouthfeel. Nice toasty, nutty, earthy hop flavors with lightly bitter finish---tasty good.

Bottle; poured a clear orange/amber type color with a khaki colored head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, earth, and fruit. A nice blended flavor; roasted, caramel, nutty with a good dose of hops in the finish. Touch of sweetness and more earth in the finish.

4 dec 2012, bottle. Light nut brown, clear, no bubbles. Nose is coffee and dark toast. Thin oct and fizzy. Lots if burnt malt and coffee in the finish. Crisp. Decent. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
