Bottle at some mediocre pho joint on Mare St, Hackney. The pourís gold with a tiny head. The nose isnít particularly agreeable. Cheap bottom shelf white bread. Skunk. Paper. A nicely aged pale lager, this is. The taste is adjuncts, syrupy sweetness. Newspaper. Light body, quite fizzy. Overall, this has none of the vulgar charms of a quality cheap pale lager. Definitely not poundable stuff.

had this both in vietnam and in spain in a vietnamese restaurant. pours a clear golden colour with small white head. aroma is of malts and is not offensive. prefer this to saigon beer. taste is refreshing but not at all complex just like many generic lagers.

Pours a golden beer with a not very long lasting head. Smells pretty standard. A bit sweet. Taste is little sweet too. Not so special.

Bottle shared with McTapps. Smelles like basmati rice and has even a bit of taste in it. Bit dull, bit skunky but at the end quite drinkable. Nothing for a beer gourmet but as a last resort.

Clear light golden colour with low head and medium body. Nose of Asia supermarket, rice and sake. Taste of malt, rice, mild hops, light barley, basement and dust. Easy to drink, but little bit too sweetish and average.

Bottle@Avalon Cafe Lounge, Hanoi, Vietnam. Golden beer with a bubbly head. The aroma is yeasty and dry, and the flavour is dry and yeasty with grapefruit citrus bitterness. Overall a basic reasonable lager. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Found at a Vietnamese restaurant in Scotland. There were surprising grassy notes to the end that made it something special above the average lager. Quite enjoyable for a light-tasting beer and went well with the lemongrass beef.

Bottle (330ml from Chung Ying Cash & Carry (Glasgow)):
Some grain, a mainly grassy hops smell and some touches of metallic along with light citrus notes somewhere around the middle. It is quite a sweet smelling lager and has a touch of bread like malts in there too.
Pale and slightly still looking clear, light golden colour with a thin foamy white head that is more of a soapy lacing after starting as a pinky sized, bubbly head.
Sweet with some grain and a citrus tang coming through. There is a strong grassy hops flavour with some lighter malts and some bread like malts; itís decent for a lager anyway.
Light and well carbonated despite the appearance of a still beer, the drink is quite refreshing with a nice crisp and clean finish. Another excellent thirst quencher.

I remember really enjoying it in Vietnam but due to the change in climate I didnít think I would still enjoy it on a Friday night back in the UK in the middle of February but I was mistaken. This one is a basic but very well made and balanced lager that I could happily drink a couple of over the course of an evening.
