2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 thirstyrabbit (478) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - DEC 7, 2010
Can. Average looking. Fresh and mildly hoppy aroma. Taste is sweet and malty. Light but very drinkable.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 harrisoni (9608) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - NOV 28, 2010
500ml bottle at Ship & Mitre Liverpool. Ok so it was several degrees below zero outside and I had to wear my coat in the pub it was that cold and my hands were frozen so probably not great conditions to drink German lager. But the fest was on and there were 9 beers that I needed. Clear gold with a thick white head. Some sweet cereal on aroma. Its ok. Not knocking anyone out but Ive had worse. Only a touch of newspaper on aroma but the lemon on the finish is fine. Some sweet pale malt. Quite likeable I thought. Oh and like all half decent lager it is stupidly drinkable.
2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 rubbishystuff (1202) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 12, 2010
OK Dortmunder. Not great but nothing that bad. Not worth going out of the way for. Serving: Bottle
1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20 Beerlando (3276) - Orlando, Florida, USA - SEP 12, 2010
Bottle. Pours mainly clear, with an average golden hue. Streams of tiny bubbles march towards the surface, feeding a thin, weak, beige film from beneath. A sudsy wash on the glass mostly returns to the body, though a few small splotches remain. The nose is of cheap, overly sweet corn malts, and honestly not a heck of alot else. There are hints of stale, cardboard-like grain and maybe some generic sweet fruit and florals, but the sugary corn truly dominates. Flavors aren’t any better, as the corn syrup and spent grain overpower what seems like a lightly peppery, dusty hop profile. It drinks heavier than it should, as the laborious sugars weigh the moderately carbonated palate down. The finish is sticky and cloying. Not good at all. Pretty horrid, in fact.
1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 FatPhil (5967) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - AUG 17, 2010
500ml can (Rimi, Tallinn)
Are people really too stupid to see through ratebeer’s fucked up styles? Just because this is a beer from Dortmund, that doesn’t mean that it’s a special style. This is just another cheaply made pale lager (Oetker Group - have you really never heard of them and their conglomeration and cost-cutting?). At least we get to see the sheep-like behaviour from the suckers who gave it high marks because of the Dortmunder/Helles categorisation
5 Simple sweet malts, a touch dusty too.
2 Pale, very brief fizzy head.
4 Sickly chemicals up the nose. Bland milky pale grain taste, a touch sicky. (no, not sickly - sicky)
2 Watery and fizzy. Finish has a touch of puke from the malts, and a fair bit of pencil sharpenings from the astringent hop extract.
6 Oetker trying to play with the big boys, and nearly failing as badly as they do. At least it has some flavour, but it’s horrifically unrefined.

Bottle. Orange and clear appearance.Poured flat with some fruitiness and a bitter finnish. Reasonable and easy to drink but not very inspiring.
