Deep nutty color with a fine tan head that leaves a fine lacing on the glass. Mild aroma with caramel and mild fruity. Medium + body. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness. Average carbonation. Bready, nutty, mild roasted, caramel and mild fruity flavor. Decent ok traditional Norwegian Christmas bock.

Dark amber-copper body, tall tan head, attempts to crocheted lacing. Aroma; brown malts, diacetyl, earthy notes, raisins. Taste; sweet dark malts, earthy notes, mild raisin juice, diacetyl hints, plum notes. Finishes sweet. Feels normal, slighty sticky. Overall average norwegian bock, minus that diacetyl.

(9 years old / Brewed 2005) Wonderful medium dark, reddish brown, caramel colour. Nose: Sweet Munich malt and caramel, Christmas cookies and yeast. Also hints of raisins, dried fruits (figs, dates). Taste & palate: Initial lively, creamy carbonation which starts to fade while in the mouth. Medium to medium light body. Slight sweetness in the attack but drier in the mid- and aftertaste. Malt notes going all the way through the taste curve, some fruitiness in the middle as well but not very complex (but then these beers usually aren’t). 9 year old commersial "juleøl" which still is alive, if mature (usually they peak at 2-3 years, then start to fade). Went well with slightly spicy, sweet & sour salmon.

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2014 Appearance is clear dark brown, with small tan head that disappears quickly. Aroma is some caramel, plum and metal. The aroma is overall not very noticeable. Boring mouth feel with medium carbonation. Aftertaste is round, fruity, sweet, skunk and lasting metal finish. Overall: Its like the ringnes pilsener with some caramel malt.

Pours a clear dark brown, small tan head that disappears quickly. The aromas are generally weak, and the good aromas are not as noticeable as the bad ones. The aromas I detected were malty, with dried fruits and raisins, pine, nuts and a hint of liquorice – There’s also aromas reminiscent of farts, metallic notes and rubber. The taste is very sweet, but not as sugary as the low strength variety. The palate is, like the low strength variety, sticky, syrupy and unpleasant. This beer is a step up from the low strength variety, but still not particularily good. Avoid this one.
