16oz bottle at Biergarten Haus DC. Pours a clear, bright gold with a frothy white head. Nose is sweet, malty, a little grassy, some mushy white bread, fake honey. Flavor is sweet, malted candies, honey, light grass, again with the mushy white bread. Watery finish.

hawthorne00 (1305) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JAN 17, 2011
Bottle. Orangish gold with a white head. Grainy aroma with a quite blunt grassy hop note. Mild grainy sweetness, a little vague sourness and fairly crude bitterness. Some spice at the end. Not very good, but it’s rough rather than bland.

Bottle. This is a quite common, bit cheap tasting pils with grain notes, grassy hops and bitterness.

Bierkrug (1639) - Idar-Oberstein (In Senegal), Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - JAN 8, 2011
500 ml bottle in Germany. A very pale gold with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet like a Helles but has a mustiness to it as well. Taste is not very nice, like sweet packing paper and glue. Palate swings you to a wierd btterness and a lingering metal spirt that will not go away. One of those drink if you have to beers.

Doing my best to compare this one against the one I had almost a year ago in South Africa... nope, can’t do it. Pours very cheap looking, light yellow, weak head. Aroma is tin, corn, alcohol. Taste is a weak mix of malts and bread. Dry finish, at least. It’s as bad as the last one by this name.

Bottle. Pale gold with an off-white foam. Aromas are grain and lemon with dusty, peppery hops. Flavours are biscuit malts with green, grassy hops . Quite peppery on the finish. Not bad.
