2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Palme (2252) - Bergen, NORWAY - NOV 22, 2011
Tasted on the taps at pretty much every place serving this in Bergen and countless both boxes and bottles during the years. As this has been the beer I grew up with, the first beer I ever tasted and by far the beer that has gotten the most time in my mouth, throat and stomach, so I decided to dedicate my rating #1000 to it. It doesn’t really look any different from any of your average pale, fizzing and boring lager from any of the big companies. Light golden and clear with some visible unfiltered lager-particles under a small, sidesticking and lightly lacing just off-white lager-head is what you get here. Does not look so great in the glass by it self, but damn, when you are being served this in Bergen, outdoors in the burning summer sun you both look damn cool and it makes you feel like a king - and I guess that’s all that really matters. The aroma and taste brings back long-forgotten childhood memories from when every sip was a hard and horrible experience that wrenched your face inside-out in agony. At least it did so unless the bottle had been freezed down to slush-content or you’d already managed to squeeze down eight or nine of ’em. It’s light grainy and kinda sour-malish but there’s also some dusty hops lurking in the background on this old slugger. No extreme or over-interesting flavors here in other words but that’s not the point either. It both tastes like, has the standard amount of lager-carbonation, mouthfeel and appearances as your average macro lager, but still for me this is quite a unique beer. Skål for the first 1000, Hansa Pils and my good beer buddies here on Ratebeer that has given me quite a few interesting and epic beer tasting evenings: GlubGonzo and InBreak :-)

1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20 Foffern (737) - Bodø, NORWAY - OCT 27, 2011
Clear straw-yellow. Small white head that don’t stay for long. Some corn sweetnes. Grassy and hay flavoured. Medium bitter. Thin and watery, light body. Fizzy in the beginning, soon flat. A horribel interpretation of the chech classic.
