| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 2, 2004 Bottle. Dark, cloudy brass, medium decaying head. Very, very sweet brown sugar nose, with molasses, sweet grape juice and Mountain Dew in evidence. Very sweet and sugary on the tongue, little acid and little hops...clean, dry finish keeps it from cloying too much. Jokes (1453), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 4, 2004 BB 7/03. Hazy orange red sunset with a thick, but quickly diminishing, tan head. Malty nose full of biscuits, baked bread, caramel, raisin and a little whole grain. The body is nice, but a little thin. The flavor is full and malty with the breads truly dominating. Not really as sweet as I would have thought, which is nice. The addition of more hops would balance this out and make it more enjoyable. Good for a Namibian beer, average for what I normally drink. kook (2034), Perth, Western Australia, Australia
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 28, 2004 Pours clear ruby amber with a large dark beige head. OK retention too. Lovely malty toffee aroma, with a bit of chocolate there as well. Fairly thin mouthfeel, though smooth, not too watery. Sweet start with a very well balanced mid and finish. Lovely malty aftertaste lingers. Touch of alcohol there too. Suprising! matta (1138), Tampa, Florida, USA

Pours a magnificent gleaming mahogany body with a tower of caramel insulating foam above. The nose is HEAVY with molasses, honeycomb, grains, caramel, - smells like a mead!? The flavor is ALL MALT. Very sweet a bit peppery, with big suggestions of plum and date, Very tasty! The palate is more thin than expected but overall this brew has a pleasant mouth feel and a warming finish…….. Me Likey!

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 20, 2003 My bottle says 7% ABV. Pours a dark amber clear under a large lasting beige head. Real plesant chunky golden syrup honey malt aroma. Quite a thin body. Typical low to non-existant hops, medium sweetness full malty flavoured. ABV comes through nicely as it warms. Pretty nice really or maybe I've been rating too many bad beers lately bluevegie (2191), Perth, Australia

Caramel malt flavour with a touch of overripe red apple and the alcohol shows itself slightly. Overall not a bad beer but maybe a little bit sweet for me.
