A dry malty taste with medium sweetness, light bitterness and a a savory taste. Light carbonation and overall very enjoyable. Usually only available during the winter months. The South African distributor, Brandhouse, seems to be fumbling, because the beers are coming in late and the beer is still being flogged late summer! So check the age before you buy!

0.33l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. This one pours quite a good looking clear deep dark nougat brown body with a medium sized fading and light lacing beige top. It has a really deep nutty sweet aroma this. Lots of oxidized caramel, deep fruits, some wood. It has grown a bit soft on the carbonation this and the mouthfeel is quite slick. More fruit dark sweetness in the flavor, sweet dates, prunes, traces of sherry and it’s extremely oxidized. One year past best before date, but I don’t mind that a bit. Brun i färgen med orange ton, vitt skum. Doftar mörkt bröd, mörk unken malt, alkohol, nötter och choklad. Smakar surt rostad malt, alkohol, sött mörkt bröd, för mycket kolsyra.

Pours with a nice head which dissipates quickly. Aroma of dried fruit & caramel. Beautiful clear brown with minimal head. Heavy cloying sweetness, lightly bitter, with a medium body and slick feel on the tongue, flavours of caramel & coffee.
A really easy drinking bock for when you want something more flavoursome than a normal lager.

330 ml bottle from Entres Petone Wellington NZ. 25/5/2012. Pours clear amber brown with good long lasting tan head. Good carbonation. Aroma of sweet malt and alcohol. Tart, full flavoured malty oatmeal flavour. Slightly bitter with a creamy finish.

Bottle shared with ClubGonzo. Pours a clear deep brown head with a small light beige head. Aromas of leather, nuts, dark wood, dried fruit and chocolate. Lot of the same stuff in the sweet flavour with more dried fruit, wood, leather and some nuts. A bit thin but slick mouth feel. Light bitterness. An easy-drinking beer with a good balance, and a nice aroma.

UPDATED: JUN 24, 2012 Bottle, courtesy of and shared with Foffern, thanks man! :-) So this is the "other" Hansa that I’ve encountered while searching on RB for the Norwegian macro brewery? Nice. :-) The supposed RB flagship of Namibia pours a deep coppery clear brown body with a small off-white retention. Nose is dark dried fruits, nuts, molasses and hints of dark syrup. Taste is burnt sugar and near-sourish dark malt tones, with hints of nuts and licorice. Light body and rather drinkable, yet complex enough for a pleasant boxperience. :-)
