O aroma instiga, o paladar afasta ...

fruit forward and acidic - a little dusty in the nose and flavor (especially the nose) and thin, which take away from an otherwise really good brew.

Bottle. Pours very dark red in color, with a quickly disappearing ruby head. Aroma of tart black currants, barnyard, wood. Beer is very dry, medium acidic, black currants of course also present in the flavour, same with barnyard. Very good cassis.

Bottle. Pours clear dark red, with a small creamy head. Aroma is dark berries and fruit peel, bretty wood, cork and some funky farmyard. Medium to full body, with very soft carbonation. Flavour is tart wooden brett and musty notes of fruits, dark berries, tannins, farmyard and notes of cork. Dry, musty bretty finish.

12.7 oz. bottle from Louisville Beer Store (2013 bottle, I believe - my label is a little gnarled); shared with my Boo. Aroma: Pure, strong blackberry that comes off as very tart; lighter basement funk; very light oak. Appearance: Blackberry coloured pour with tight carbonation clinging to the side of the glass; the head is mostly a small whitish ring. Flavor: Starts out with pure, whole blackberry and then has a sharp crescendo of acidity towards the finish, which lingers on a bit. Funk and oak notes are not as noticeable as in the aroma. Palate: Light body, slick texture, lively carbonation, long finish. Overall: This was over the top for me in terms of the sour aspects of the flavor, and also felt somewhat thin. A disappointment, and perhaps for more hardcore sourheads (or maybe one that’s not as wimpy as this reviewer).

Aroma and flavor is much the same, intense oak, sour funk, blackcurrants, with a lingering fruity sweetness. Quite nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours dark purple, clear (if poured properly, big amount of residual on the bottom) with no head. Aroma of red fruits, black currants, barnyard, leather, wood. In taste solid acidity, strong fruit flavour, funk, wood. Acidity is more vinous or fruity. Thin body, oily slick texture, high carbonation. Finish is tart and fruity. The best black currant flavoured lambic I’ve tried, one of the best in overall. Wow, great beer.
