3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours completely flat out of the bottle with nary a bubble to be found. The body is as a fairly murky ruby red.
The aroma is seriously funky with tons of barnyard aromas in addition to some vinegar. There is more than just the funk though as the sweetness of the fruit successfully fights through the funk.
The taste has a completely lip-puckering vinegar sourness up front with the earthy funk holding off until the finish. Honestly, there’s more fruit than I was expecting from the aroma and the brown sugar and currants form a solid backbone under the brett.
The mouthfeel is extremely wine-like with a very dry and refreshing finish and almost no carbonation.
A very good lambic with a serious funk and acidic punch on tongue but with enough fruit to pull it off. Good stuff and extremely refreshing.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Corked bottle from SoLan. Thanks, Alan!
Pours a muddy, murky cranberry juice red with a nose-punching aroma of sour cranberry and overly ripened sour strawberry. Hints of raspberry soaked in cedar vinegar are in there as well. Flavor is a punch-in-the-mouth rush of bittered and soured cranberry and cherry, with dark fruits left in oak rounding out the flavor. Thin yet lingering mouthfeel. Wow. This isn’t a beer; it’s an experience. AWESOME.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
My bottle [12.7oz] shared with HogTownHarry & garthicus. Pours a murky deep red/purple with a spare bubbly head. Aroma’s funky, earthy and very lemony along with plenty of tart fruit -- wow, this is intense! Flavour’s quite fruity, tart (but not as much as expected after that aroma), funky and citrusy -- delicious really. Acidic finish. Medium bodied. I loved it!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
20100213 At Max’s BBF10, shared by Ryan, 375ml bottle. Beautiful bright maroon color, mostly flat. Aroma is nutty with leather notes beneath waves of barnyard funk, twiggy detritus. Flavor is smacking with vinous, tart currant, blackberry, and not a lot of sweetness beyond some soft wood notes. Bracingly sour. Really enjoyed this one.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Lateral cassis tasting, with Kuhnenn to smooth the tongue. This one is vinegary and woody, the cassis is there, its a sipper but very good for what it is. Pours dark berry colour, with no head whatsoever. Nice winter night beer.Above average mouthfeel.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle thanks to davinci! Pours a murky bright rich purplish raspberry color with a small white fine froth. Aroma is quite sweet, pool water, cassis, horse blanket, light formaldehyde, seemingly some raspberry. Flavor is strong syrupy sharp tart sour, seemingly raspberry again, a very earthy cassis flavor, tangy, more tart than sour, very acidic, just a hint of vinegar. Medium bodied, thinner, not sticky, no carbonation.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance: Pours a light burgundy-hued body with, despite a heavy, hearty pour no real head formation.
Smell: Fairly funky. Rotted, molded, decayed oak wood barrels filled with skins-on black currents and pickling salt. A tad phenolic and sweaty.
Taste: A true, albeit mild taste of black currants, skins and all. Tiny pinch of sea salt. A small handful of compost soaked in vinegar. A rattling jolt of lactic sourness that instantly puckers the mouth, followed by an uppercut of astringent oaken tannins. Flat, acidic finish.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Sans carbonation. The typical puckering mouthfeel one would expect.
Drinkability: Well, it could’ve certainly benefited from some carbonation. My second Hanssens lambic and, again, I just didn’t really dig it. Such is the way with beers and experiments, I suppose.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
From DC Local tasting. Pours a clear light pink with a small pink head. Aroma is cranberry, currants, must, funk, raspberry tart. Taste is like RR Consecration but with less oak character and a bit more lactic. Very intensely sour. Some band-aid shows through in the aroma and taste and is a bit off-putting.
