3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a pinkish orange, almost still...
The aroma is really pungent. Baby-diaper-o-rama, wow is this thing funky and pungent. And yet, plenty of fruit character gets through all that funk as well as some of the softer earthier barn-yardy notes.
The flavor is very sour, very very sour. Currant is a noticeable part of the flavor, as is a little bit of balsamic vinegar. Lots of nice lemony sourness is there as well.
Absolutely enjoyable, but really something else. The 375ml split between 2 was more than enough!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Received as an extra from a friend on BA. Thanks a bunch Phil! Pours a complete flat deep purple in color with an aggressive pour. Itís completely opaque in clarity. Nose is heavy funk, decadent black current, sharp lemon, horse blanket, and wet dog. Flavor is overtly sour lemon off the bat, then it falls back on the black currant. It has some backing funk and vinegar, but this is almost entirely lactic in sourness. Light mouthfeel, no carbonation, moderate to heavy acidity, and a long finish. Wasnít much of a fan of hanssens prior to this weekend, but after having the Oude Kriek and now this, I think I am becoming a convert. This is crazy sour, but has really nice black currant character as well. Interested in seeing how these are with age on them.

375mL thanks to CanIHave4Beers! Aroma-crazy funky. Tuna. The aroma is very potent. From afar you get mainly fruit, but get way up in that bitch and itís all manure. Very funky, very sour. No head.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
37.5cl bottle at the Grote Dorst. It pours a dark purple colour with a small white head. Foam vanishes quickly. Smells sour, very sour. And fruity. Horse blanket, dust and red fruits. Heaven. Taste is sour and funky. Very sour. Red fruits come through and almost reminds of a framboise. Body is medium with good carbonation. Overall, a delight of a lambic.
