Cloudy orange. Nose is big funk, tart fruits, more funk. Taste is incredibly sour candies, tart fruits, funk, leather. Salivating thinking about this one.

Heerlijk, prachtig bier, verdorie. ////////////////////////////////////////////////// Tried another 375 ml. bottle. Thx! for the sample. Totally messy & experimental, pure funk, rubber, totally wild with little raspberry. Very odd & raw mess. Interesting but not as good as previously. Keeping the old score for now.

UPDATED: NOV 22, 2014 Complete silence when I removed the cork - no "pop" at all. Pours an orange soda color with no head. Flat orange soda. I actually giggle when I put my nose to the beer and smelled it - I can already tell this one is gonna be completely off the wall. Nose of berries and extreme funk. I mean really, really funky in the nose. Taste is way off the charts funky and sour, with a slight berry bite. Brutal - in a good way. Sip after sip keeps your tongue and mind twisted together like a sour twizzler. Wow. Another absolute gem from Hanssens, but... if this beer had carbonation it probably would have scored a perfect 5.

Some pretty intense funk in the aroma that lasts for quite awhile. Orange color with no head at all. Wow this has got some serious funk going on. Lots of sourness, some fruit notes. This is pretty darn good. It’s been awhile since I had a funk monster like this. Darn pricey though.

Bottle. Clear red with a tiny white head. Aroma had acetone, sour and very fresh raspberries, barnyard and woody notes. Flavour had loads of acetone/lacto, barnyard, wood and a ton of fresh raspberries, Finished very sour and it burned all the way down. Love it!

UPDATED: JAN 22, 2010 Bottle: The aroma consists of lots of fresh sweet raspberries with a hint of tartness, vinegar, and oak. It pours a slightly hazy orangish-red with a small soapy ring around the edges of the glass. The flavor instantly hits you with some extreme lemony sourness. There is some light sweet raspberry flavors throughout. The finish is very acidic and has some hints of vinegar. Medium bodied with mild carbonation.

Split another bottle with northernbrews and the aroma was loaded with acetone and the flavor wasn’t nearly as sour. I’ve got a few more bottles and if the rest taste like this one, this rating will be dropping significantly.

I’ve had 4 bottles of this now and it’s 50/50 hit or miss. The best of them are incredibly sour with a nice fresh raspberry flavor and a hint of vinegar. The others are almost as sour, but loaded with acetone and the vinegar flavor is stronger than the raspberry. I have no clue what causes the variation as all my bottles were purchased from the same case. Obviously my rating is for the good bottles I’ve had.

Bottle 375ml.
Clear medium to dark red color with a small fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy fresh raspberry and not frozen as many other fruit lambics, wood, barnyard. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and heavy acidic with a long long duration, very dry dry and tart finish. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. Lovely thanks John for making use this lovely blend ;O)) [20090530]

No head, just some bubbles. Nice red-orange color. Aroma is slightly sour-ish fruity, sorrel, mild vinegar, sweet raspberries, grass, oak. Taste is dry and sour, sorrel, berry skin, vinegar, dry sour raspberries, unripe gooseberries, lemon. Medium bitterness, dry mouthfeel. Very nice!

Bottled@Fonefan. Ruby red colour, not much head. Aroma is raspberry with very brutally sour notes. Floavour is extremely brutal dry, tart and sour raspberries along with dry wood. Extremely brutal bier, even though not that "complex".’kin hell, Warning: this beer will ruin your palate for the rest of the evening. Good thing this was the last beer at Fonefan for this visit.
