3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 SamGamgee (2451) - down the whirlpool, California, USA - DEC 22, 2010
37.5cl bottle. Dark gold-orange color with a very small white head. This stuff is out of this world sour. My mouth waters just thinking about taking the next sip. Strawberry is noticeable in the aroma and is quite sweet, mixing well with a dusty, funky brett character. Fruit is harder to pick out in the flavor because of the very high acidity. Just lots of sour fruit and the reaction on the tongue is so severe that that’s about all you get. It is a nicely balanced and soft sour though, if that makes any sense. So, in short, very nice aroma and very sour flavor. I’m the biggest sourhead that I know and that’s about all this reduces me to. lacks a bit in carbonation, as did the last bottle of their gueuze that I had. This also has a similar character but more interesting aroma and more acidity. I’d take it over that one any day.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 SirLimpsalot (843) - SWEDEN - NOV 26, 2010
Syrlig, men diskret doft. Helt utan kolsyra, men med en fantastisk smak av ananas och andra citrusfrukter.
God eftersmak och mycket snäll munkänsla.
2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 adnielsen (3112) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 26, 2010
Tasted from a 12.7 oz bottle purchased in Denver, Colorado. Pours a golden yellow/orange appearance with basically no head. Definite sour aroma that is enhanced by strawberries. Sour lambic flavor that the strawberries are really only apparent in the finish. OK to below average fruit lambic that’s not all that interesting.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 gyllenbock (1608) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - NOV 23, 2010
Bottle at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam i November 2010.
Hazy orange with no head. Sour aroma with some light notes of strawberries, funk. Almost no carbonation and a very subtle fruit flavor. Very refreshing and tart, a pleasant beer.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 dcschiller (1457) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - NOV 18, 2010
(375ml bottle). Pours hazy golden color with minimal white head. Very little carbonation. Aroma is funky and musty. I can’t describe it, but almost a smoke to it. Taste is sour, but no real strawberry detected. Thin bodied and fairly abrupt finish. That musty smoke is present in the first few seconds of the flavor also. It’s distracting, but it doesn’t ruin the beer. Possible this is an old bottle-I don’t think the store I got it from turns this stuff over much, plus it can get warm in the store during summer months (in Arizona). I’d like to re-rate next time I’m in Belgium.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 italarican (798) - Astoria, New York, USA - NOV 11, 2010
Bottle at Where the Wild Beers Are. Hazy orange-yellow pour. Aroma of strawberry and grapefruit. Flavor is a mix of bitter grapefruit, tart lemon and peach, and nail polish. Burning nail polish finish overtakes some nice peach and strawberry notes. The nail polish went a bit too far here into harsh territory.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 topherh (1709) - Kearney, Missouri, USA - NOV 8, 2010

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 callmemickey (711) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 31, 2010
UPDATED: JAN 16, 2012 Pld bottle (2003?) opened late 2010
A: Pale, pinkish amber body. Quite clear on the initial pour. No head. Only a stray trace of lace left behind.
S: You can smell the acidity. Some funky feet and cheese. Earthy. The strawberry was quite faint. Unlike krieks and framboises that really distance themselves from their lambic base with the addition of fruit, the strawberry here left the underlying lambic relatively untouched.
T: Acidic funk. Earthy with quite a bit of oak, cheese, horse blanket, and mildly sweaty feet. Just the slightest bit of strawberry.
M: Light to medium bodied. Relatively still. Enamel eating acidity.
O: Drank a bit slower that I would have liked. Really enjoyed the funk... just wished there was a bit more strawberry to go with the acidity.
