COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This unique, refreshing beer appetizer is the result of amalgamating fresh strawberries with lambic during summer.

Bottle. No idea how old this one is. I have had it for a long time, since NC law changed over in 2004 I think. So it is at least 3 years old. Pours out a golden color without much of a head at all. Smell has some hints of strawberries, faintly, some wood smells, a little bit of mustiness. The taste was ntohing like I was expecting. I was expecting something with some strawberry flavors, but I think the beer is old enough that I was left with a Guezue with a nice little strawberry aftertaste which wasnt really noticeable. That said, this was really good - if not what it was originally designed to be! Very sour, very smooth, and easy to drink. Good stuff!

Clear amber with no head. Big barnyard and citrusy strawberry soda smell. Medium body and barely carbonated. Nice sweet and sour, but mostly sour taste with lemon, strawberry, wood, and earthy funk. Not too bad considering it was nearly flat.

Another one that is vastly underappreciated in my opinion. It has that funky wet blanket, hung up in the barn kind of nose. A bit of sourness, melded with rich layers of fruity acidity that tingles the tongue. Finishes slightly bitter and sour, but lacks a little complexity in the tail.

The color was coudy orange/yellow. There was no head. The aroma was sour and bandaides. The flavor was tart, yeast, and bandaides. The palate was thin. The finish was long-lasting and sour.

Pours a thin hazy bright golden yellow. Not too much carbonation and as a result not too much head. The nose is sour, acidic, a tad sweet, vinous. The flavor is sort of a mess. There is definitely some strawberry there, but not very good. There is some light sweetness, a bit watery, light acidic bite. The palate feels thin, incomplete, lacks carbonation. Lightly sour. Finishes a little sour, starts warming up and leaves a residual old strawberry flavor.

Bottle at ’t Bruge Beerje. Slightly hazy warm gold, rough white head that settles into a fine ring. Warm funky barnyard aroma, a barnyard with mostly dairy cows, but also with one pig, a chicken or two, and one wet sheep. Mixed in with that is a lovely perfume of dew-covered wild strawberries, beginning noble rot on the vine. Deep layers of sour with mellon and berry fruit, leather, and a bright salty finish. Nice fullness to the sourness, making this a very satisfying glass.

20070610 Spuyten Beast of the Yeast. Smells a bit smoky and dirty, maybe a touch of plasticy phenol. Earth notes. Some wet wool - distant berries. Finishes with nice berry presence and lingering sweetness.

Sampled a bottle at Brassiere Beck in Washington DC. Zero head on this cloudy golden beer. Again, that lambic funk on the aroma. The strawberries add a nice twist, strawberries and sourness don’t quite mesh. This was an interesting combo though.
