Clear golden with no real head. Aroma of strawberry jam and a touch of funk... perhaps a little too simple and fake for me. Medium body, mild acid tartness and a strong strawberry flavour... again its just too jammy and fake. Light barnyard finish redeems it a little bit. Pretty solid overall.

Sampled at the 1st annual Stone Sour Festival 2007. Nice sweet sample to balance out the sours of the day.

375 ml bottle, via dsnowden. Pours a cloudy peach-orange colored body with just a few large fleeting bubbles of head. Very slow lazy visible carbonation. Aroma is very gueuze like with a fruity sweetness like peaches or apricots more than strawberries. A good amount of musty and moldy cellar funk below. The drying acetic vinegar flavor grabs me right away. There’s some fruitiness there, but I really couldn’t tell what it was, having not looked at the commercial description, my guess was apricots actually. Very dry and dusty moldy finish. Mouthfeel is fairly dry with a moderate acetic bite up front. Watery in texture with just very minimal carbonation. This is really much better than you might expect from a strawberry lambic. Hanssens makes the real deal.

Sampled at Stone’s Sour Festival, July 2007. Comes out of the bottle golden with no head. aardbei aroma is strong, but the flavor is dominated by a healty nose of sour lambic. Thankfully the sweet berry adds a nice foil

Bottle--5th brew of Stone 1st Annual Sour Festival, July 22nd 2007. Shared this cool day very mellow day with bikesandbeer, wetherel, westsidethreat, padrefan, fordest, denverlogan and many others. Pours clear copper orange with a ring of a head. The aroma is light but very clearly strawberry, really amazing nose, gotta love the real strawberry smell in this beer. Taste is tart strawberry with a really well balanced mix of flavors. Kudos Hanssens.

Pours orange with a warm ruby hue and no head. Fruity strawberry aroma, acidic and sour. Flavor wasn’t as acidic and sour as the aroma let on. Not very sour in the finish, still has a good acidic character. Got that good lambic earthy funk to it. Good blend of strawberry without going overboard.

Tried at Stone’s 1st annual sour beer tasting. I like sour beers, and my friends seemed to like this, but I’m going to have to rate differently. Yes, I smelled some strawberry mixed with barf, maybe a little bit of aged socks. OK, I wrote it. Enough with the smell, on to the taste. Taste is smooth, not too sour. Couldy yellow color. No head.
