4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 cracklefish (91) - Ohio, USA - JUN 17, 2011
Incredibly acidic. The notes of strawberry on the nose and on the exhale make this lambic so worth it. Wow. I really enjoyed the tart but it has potential to make you drool. This bottle was relatively still but the cork was perfect so who knows. Overall a very great example of how to bring the essence of strawberry out without creating the off flavors and " jam " that happens so often.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 TheAlum (2981) - Lisle, Illinois, USA - MAY 28, 2011
Sampled from a bottle at Delilah’s Lambic Fest (Chicago, IL). 2000 Vintage. Pours a nice glowing amber gold pour, touches of orange shine with a decent loose bubbled whitish head. Good glow, a bit dulled. Aromas are rich fresh strawberries with touches of lemons, lactic acid, and bready malts. Touches of sour acidity with still a healthy kick of fresh fruity strawberry despite the age on this bad boy moving into some sharp lemony sourness and acidity. Initial is strawberries up front, touches of red fruit with sour lemons, lactic acid, moving into good bready malts, flaked wheat, touches of yogurt. Not the strongest acidity, still quite fruity and sour with a lot of yogurt coming through and some light bretty funk, touches of hay and horseblanket. Maybe a touch of butter? Strange beer that still has a good fresher strawberry finish. Certainly interesting and a priviledge to try such an old vintage. Still has some impressive fruit flavor. A surprising beer.
