2000 bottle consumed in ’06. i didn’t expect too much but this left me stunned. rose appearance, huge aroma of tomato vine and a touch of strawberry with a threat of some lambic rancidity. the sourness had mellowed significantly but was still mouth-puckering and showed some tomato juice and blood and suggested strawberry fruit tella and salted lemon. amazing
4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20 BlackIPA (197) - Rochester, New York, USA - FEB 3, 2012
UPDATED: FEB 4, 2012 Bottle @ Tap and Mallet: Pours a clear light amber with no head. Flat. Aroma of strawberries, funk and oak. Very tart, very good. Blew me away. FUNKY! Awesome.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 leeburg (200) - Juneau, Alaska, USA - JAN 15, 2012
2000 Vintage at Sub Zero in Anchorage. Appearance is copper (in this lighting) with white-ish head. Aroma is full of fruit and funk, barnyardy notes, grandma’s closet type weirdness. All the craziness you look for in a sour. Flavors are heavily sour but very nicely balanced with fruitiness of berries, almost like a mix of ripe and unripe fruits. Palate is long and drawn out, with sourness pervading all the way through. Exceptional and worth the premium to try it a world away.

Très bonne bière, goût fraise original. Nez très complexe. Super en apéritif.
3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Ernesto987 (1246) - Connecticut, USA - DEC 17, 2011
Little ass bottle, picked this out after 4 imperial stouts to cleanse the palate. Big strawberry flavors. Some funk on the nose. Then goes vinegar. If it went funky this would be amazing. Too bad!
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Countbeer (1686) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - DEC 5, 2011
Bottle:
No head just some bubbles which disappear fairly quick.
Light hazy and a tiny bit darker yellow colored beer.
This smells pretty bad (ok for a Lambiek though) but the taste is heavenly!
Smell is a strange mix of yeast and wood, shit, manure, caramel, bad water, hint of sweets like brownish fruit and sugars. Actually pretty well balanced smell, though a bit strange (shit?)
The taste is very very nice: sour, strawberry, wood, caramel, hint of yeast, some yoghurt, some sweets like a tiny bit of brown/sticky sugars added.
Nice woody yeasty light caramel light sour aftertaste. Bit too short, which if it was longer and stronger present it would’ve scored even higher.
Low carbo, soft sour mouthfeel, full body and a lightly watery texture.
The strawberry is perfectly balanced with the lambiek! Delicious!
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 prawlie (473) - Berkshire, ENGLAND - NOV 25, 2011
37.5 cL into a Westmalle glass (from ABS Drinks), clear orange with no head. Smells very sour and fruity, wtih some sweetness. Tastes both sweet and sour. Sharp acid taste, but it tastes, hence good rating. Has a strong acidic sour taste. Its enoyable but not one for people unused to sour ales.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 OmegaX (367) - Florida, USA - NOV 3, 2011
Such a unique beer. Smell is loaded with dried strawberry flavors and some lingering lemon scent. After the initial sweet, fruity smells comes a unique flavor I’ve never experienced in a beer, either sulfur or egg, or a chemically smell. It even reminds me of something burnt and musty at the same time. Popcorn? Haha. Poured out with no head and some big bubbles made from a vigorous pour. Looks like white peach juice. Taste is abrasive and harsh with acidity and funky sour notes. Far more sour than any beer I’ve had to date. Some slight berry sweetness that is relentlessly overpowered by burnt lemons/grilled lemons. It even drys out the mouth quite a bit. I think the sour ale extremist would love this beer.
