Lot D. Pink-red body, almost zero head. Aroma provides a nice gust of strawberries and funk, yet needs more intensity. Taste suffers the same fate: mild, subtle flavors left and right. And what *is* present isn't particularly special. Another disappointing fruit sour from Hanssens, further reinforcing that the gueuze is the only blend they make that's worth your money.

Pours a vibrant pale orange-amber with slight chill hazing and almost zero carbonation and head. The nose reveals a healthy dose of brett and funky barnyard scents, some sour sweets and fruitiness. There are obvious fruity/berry notes but I'm not sure I'd be able to identify it as strawberries if tasted blind. The palate is almost reminiscent of a Berliner Weisse with some saltiness. The acidity is there but not over the top. Strawberry ice cream and some toasted bread notes kick in mid palate and it ends on an almost chemical note. Very interesting. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

No head, no carbonation. Looks like apple juice. Quite pleasant tones of wild strawberry in the aroma, but also some burnt polyethylene. Really sour, but not too strong for me. Taste is similar to the aroma, but the burnt polyethylene is much stronger, especially in the aftertaste; there’s also some resinous quality to it. I’m sort of two minds on this - strawberry notes are very pleasant and unlike anything I’ve tried before, but the burnt plastic really kills it. A defective batch/barrel? Or maybe I can’t just handle the funkiness?

375ml bottle from beermerchants.com. Fascinating lambic with captivating sour strawberry flavours, some flan, funk and a soft lingering fruitiness. Hugely enjoyable.

Lambic con aggiunta di fragole. Bellissimo colore aranciato senza schiuma.

37,5 cl bottle. Semi-clear orange/light reddish, zero head. Aroma is tart funky, slight barnyard, very apparent fruity/strawberry tone, oak, jam. Taste starts tart, with a fruity musty tone of strawberries, citrus, wood, slight flourish/bubblegum hint, going into a more vinegary tart state, with a defined dryness in the finish. Medium to full body, zero carbo, sticky texture. Perfect on the spring evening.

375ml green corked and caged bottle, with a label picturing strawberries, poured into a Rodenbach Tulip glass. Appearance is cloudy orange with no head, just a few bubbles that quickly dissipated. Aroma of overly ripe strawberries, barnyard and a hint of vinegar. Flavours of slightly unripe strawberries, green apples, lemon and oak wood notes. Taste is light sweet and medium-heavy sour. Palate is light-medium bodied, slick texture and flat carbonation. Hanssens Oudbeitje is refreshing, the strawberry is noticeable but not dominating.

375ml bottle. Light, slightly strawberry tinted rose with no head. Lightly sour funky barnyard typical lambic aroma with a sweet overtone of ripe strawberries. Sour and funky taste with sweet, and slightly salty mineralic, strawberry going over to a taste of sweet and sour strawberries and a light dry earthiness. Completely flat and with a light mouthfeel leaving lasting impressions.

Bottle. Tart funky barnyard, light oak, and earthy strawberry aroma. Brassy gold with a minimal head. Tart funky lactic, sweet strawberry, and earthy floral vanilla flavor. Light body, soft carbonation. The sweetness of the strawberries balance the tartness nicely.

The most striking feature is that it should be more carbonated. Almost no head at all. A complex taste with strawberries and citrus, and a slight bitterness like grape fruit. After a while will the sourness dominate. Nice balance in tastes.
