Commercial Description:
As with all Gueuzes, Hanssens is a mixture of several vintages to produce a lambic which is refreshingly fruity.

This is the result of blending different lambics of different ages. The second fermentation takes place inside the bottles and therefore they are stored for minimum six months in constant temperature kept cellars.

Bottle from Knightly Spirits. Bright light orange color, thin head but some foam remains on top until the last drop. A few whisps of lacing. This is sour and puckery, light fruits; lemons, grapefruit, peaches, funk and some barrel notes. A mild burn in the senses. Drinkable for the style. Very nice. If there’s such a thing as a bargain Gueze this might be it.

Pours a bubbly, bright orange with essentially no head. Strong aroma. Sour of course, funky yeast, and a strong fruity smell like peaches and pears. Flavor was fairly sweet and wonderfully sour. Made my mouth pucker a little during the first few sips. Palate was nice and fizzy with a lasting sour finish.

Dark gold pour with a minimal head. Aroma has great funk, bubblegum, citrus, hay, straw, tannin, and horseblanket. Flavor is quite woody with more sour funk and a touch of grapefruit and orange rind. Palate is really nice; excellent level of carbonation, and a beautiful dry finish. Damn tasty.

375mL bottle from Knightly Spirits. Pours a golden with a thin head at first, which fades to nothing. Bubbles coat the inside of the glass. Musty acidic nose, funky, tart lemons, carbonation kicks a tartness that hits high in the nasal passage. Sour, tart, puckering flavor. Very light on the acetic, but loads of lactic acid, gives a hint of puckering fruity sweetness mid after the tart assault and before the dry finish. A little heavier body than some other gueuzes, but still quite light, dry, refreshing and easy to quaff. For the price, this is fantastic.

Light straw pour with a very minimal white head. The aroma quite funky- nectar, bubblegum, farmy horsepen, and oak. The flavor is quite oaky with nice tannin levels, full flavored funk profile, and further bubblegum notes. The palate is full for the style, with excellent acidity, and a puckering dry finish.

Slightly Pink Pour, this beer was of course sour, but what really bothered me is how salty it was. Maybe I got a bad bottle at Knightly Spirits in Orlando, but this guy tasted like someone unscrewed the caps of my salt and pepper shakers and WHAM! there goes my dinner. Cloudy, a little smoky, and not sweet at all.

1pint 12.7oz bottle from Knightly Spirits (I think). Orange gold pour with a thin white head and minimal lacing. Typical gueuze aroma of grapes, lemon, oak, sour apple (which all somehow combines to smell like bandaids to me). Taste is a nice sharp funky white grape that goes to lemon bitter. Has that sweet funk throughout. A massive tart, acidic and dry finish. Harsh tastes that make you pucker. Overall a strange sweet tart goodness.

This is an incredible display of a lambic gueze style. This has sour hints of yeast and barely. The flavor is extremely intense bitters that wow the taste buds and intensive the floral aromas of the hops. I really enjoyed this beer as it was the second gueze I have ever had.
