Still had the wild, uncontrolled power that’s a hallmark of the style, but this was far more approachable. Sour from the nose on, but didn’t crush you. GodOfThunder (893), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 19, 2009 Aroma is a musty and dusty sour lemon, with some dried grass. Flavors are sour and tart, with lemons and other citrus. This is a great beer, made even better by the relatively low pricetag. HonkeyBra (1404), Lemont, Illinois, USA

Light orange pour with nice white head. Funky, sour, acidic aroma. Very sour flavor, Lemon, acid, wood, funk. Fruity, puckering, mouthwatering. Refreshing, effervescent mouthfeel. Deliciously awesome. j12601 (1412), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 16, 2009 Bottle. Pours an opaque orange with a medium white head that fades down quickly. Light lacing, and little bits of sediment in the glass. Piles of wine cork funk, acid, and hay. Medium bodied and sour from the start hitting the front of the tongue sharply before moving to the sides of the mouth with a nice puckering sourness. Nice crisp acid. Finishes tart and acidic, but very earthy and funky. SudsMcDuff (1867), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA

They smell good, they look good, you’d step over your own mother just to get one! But you can’t stop at one. You wanna drink another woman! Rciesla (3915), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 12, 2009 Bottle very young. Pours an orange golden body with a fizzy white head. Notes of lemon, balsamic, acetic and lactic acid moderately acidic. Some light wood and leather. I’ll take the kriek instead. Pawola22 (805), Kansas City, Missouri, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 7, 2009 375ml bottle. Pours a crystal clear, bright orange body with lots of initial rising carbonation. Thin, fizzy, loud, white head that leaves a good amount of runny, soapy lacing. Aroma is sweet and sour fruits (apples and grapefruits mostly), acidic vinegar, dry wood, and champagne. Very strong. I don’t get the cheese that some others have noted, but I am a novice when it comes to this style. Flavor is initially sour, but really mellows out and shows a light maltiness through the finish. Lots of citric flavors up front that diminish smoothly into the finish, but remain present. Theres an ever present tartness that I’m liking because it never gets lip smacking tart. A light woody note at first and a subtle drying finish. The lingering flavor is a mix between an earthy funk and sour tart. Palate is light to medium and surprisingly has a flat carbonation. Overall, I’m not very experienced with rating this style of beer, but this one seems to be pretty flavorful and well balanced. It stays sweet and equally sour without ever leaning too much towards one or the other. A good introduction. Aquilo (285), California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 2, 2009 From reading some of the review here, it seems that the quality varies greatly from one bottle to the next. Mine poured a slightly cloudy blonde with a thick creamy head. There was some bottle stink at first when I opened the bottle, but after that the aroma was quite nice. Malty, and a little bit fruity. The flavor is where this all falls apart. It is incredibly vinegary, like an old kombucha. I’m not sure if I can finish the bottle. I probably won’t.
