COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As with all Gueuzes, Hanssens is a mixture of several vintages to produce a lambic which is refreshingly fruity.

This is the result of blending different lambics of different ages. The second fermentation takes place inside the bottles and therefore they are stored for minimum six months in constant temperature kept cellars.

37,5cl Geers - Layers upon layers of cultured yet wild tastes and aromas: old lemon and grapefruit rinds left alone to their own design, rhubarb compot thrown in for good measure, a combined bitter-sour palate-cleanser to dream of. Nose is slightly more acidic/balsamic than the immensely complex astringent and yet mature taste, where some brown sugar and lactic acid seeps in. Style-defining and to my palate more layered that the top puckerers...

What a great drink after a long and thirst bringing hike through the forest. Nice sourness, dusty. Just what I needed.

Bottle. Pours a murky amber with thin but very long lasting off-white head with soapy racing. Nose of barn funk, lemon rinds, vinegar, lactic acid, acetone. Good tartness, lemon and wheat flavors with good deal of funk. This got really good as it warmed.

Una delle migliori oude gueuze prodotte al mondo. Il gusto è equilibratissimo e l’acido va oltre ogni immaginazione di piacevolezza. Annata 2011 da 75 cl.

A delightful pop from the cork and this poured out sunshine golden straw color. Light and a bit cloudy. A voluptuous head of white foam that settled to a thin cap and collar and champagne effervescence. It’s heaven to look at. The nose is strong and delicious with yeast, brett funk, barnyard and hay, musty wood a bit of vinegar and sweet hint of white grape and citrus. Taste is mouth watering, juicy and sour. Lemon, plenty of earthy funk, sour with some pear and green apple. Malt is light grain. It’s simplicity on the palate and each sip has you asking for more. Nice dry finish and a little oak and vanilla in the aftertaste. This was a wild and refreshing geuze.

pours a very light orange color with decent carbonation and a nice white head. initial aroma a little funky, bold, sour. After the initial whiff, still sour, with a little fruity smell, possibly pear. Initial taste. woah, sour. Sweet and sour, like a sour patch kid or something of the sort. pear.

37.5cl. Bottle, best before 07/08/2030, Lotnr L. This smells sharp and sour, the appearance a cloudy yellow with a light small head, very light carbonation. Taste is medium sour lingering on the palate as a good gueuze should. It’s a fairly smooth light gueuze, not as overwhelming as other examples but that is not necessarily a negative, depends on what you are looking for. Very similar to Boon Oude Gueuze to my untrained mouth.
