COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As with all Gueuzes, Hanssens is a mixture of several vintages to produce a lambic which is refreshingly fruity.

This is the result of blending different lambics of different ages. The second fermentation takes place inside the bottles and therefore they are stored for minimum six months in constant temperature kept cellars.

Bottle from liquor express - why do I keep buying gueuze, I don’t like the tartness, though I get why others enjoy it. Anyway, pours an effervesiant clear orange. Aroma is summer and tropical fruits, ie fruit cocktail. Taste is medium sour and tart. Palate is dry. Overall, solid.

2011 350 ml bottle from Brickstore cellar. Birthday bash - thanks Lee!! Pours a cloudy orange pour with a ring of residual white head after sitting and leaving it for an unnoticed bit. Smell is barnyard, grassy, lemony, lacto. Fantastic nose. Taste is light sour tart, lemony, a bit funky, earthy, fantastic. Dry finish with lingering smooth tartness. Story of the evening, company made this a fantastical beer memory. And the beer was damn fine.

375 ml bottle poured into a tulip. Pours hazy deep orange body with a small head, minimal lacing. Aroma is strong sour, tart fruit, wood. Taste is medium acidic and sweet citrus up front, mildly sour and bitter to finish. Medium body, flat carbonation and a long, dry sour finish. Overall: Tasty and enjoyable. Not too sweet or heavy; refreshing while still complex to be interesting.

Bottle---> tulip. Pours a light orange with a one finger head and spotty lace. Head never really disappears. Smell is super funky barnyard and sour lemon. Tastes very sour and leathery. Nice crisp palate with good carbonation. I love this beer- great representation of the style.

Bottla at M-Cafe, Leuven: Pale amber coloured brew with an good tart taste with some fruitiness, drybitter indeed and not so sour due the blending i think.

Bottle 37,5 cl, BBE 07.08.2030. Pours dark golden in color with a small whitish head. A bit funk, some wheat and light notes of vinegar in aroma. Tart mouthfeel at first. Some lemon mixed with a bit of sour notes in taste. Just awesome. Got inspired by the Toer de Geuze 2013, so I had to open a bottle of Hanssens Oude Gueuze for this occasion. Actually this isn’t that tart towards the end, instead some more softer and fruitier notes appear. No need to say that this is a really tasty gueuze after all with some lingering sour notes in finish.
