COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As with all Gueuzes, Hanssens is a mixture of several vintages to produce a lambic which is refreshingly fruity.

This is the result of blending different lambics of different ages. The second fermentation takes place inside the bottles and therefore they are stored for minimum six months in constant temperature kept cellars.

First acid rush in the nose short lived. Really strong acid feeling in the throat not unlike a failed vomit attempt. Not bad but definitely too sour for most people. Not sure i could drink up the bottle.

75cl bottle at home Vintage 2010. Sharp, spritzy, lemon acidity in the taste. The appearance is typical gueuze but the head dissipates rapidly due to the sourness of this gueuze. Typical Hanssens profile. Funky but very citric and sharp. This would hold up well for aging.

Pours clear. Pale in color, nice white head. Aroma is very clear, with some slight acidic notes. Taste is definitely sour, refreshing, and again: very clear, no off-flavours. Fantastic, old-style gueuze.

Bottle at home. Pours dark golden with medium head. Aroma of sour fruits, lemongrass, burned rubber. Tart rubber taste, salty-sour. Quite special.
