COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As with all Gueuzes, Hanssens is a mixture of several vintages to produce a lambic which is refreshingly fruity.

This is the result of blending different lambics of different ages. The second fermentation takes place inside the bottles and therefore they are stored for minimum six months in constant temperature kept cellars.

Bottle corked. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy white head that was lasting with good lacing. Moderate sour yeasty aroma. Medium body with a dry texture. Medium sour citrus flavor with a medium sour finish of moderated duration. This is a standout for style beer.

[thank you, dedollewaitor]
Pours hazy yellow-golden with a small film head. Aroma is tart, citric and lightly woody. Fine, dry mouthfeel. Flavour is pleasingly tart, well citric and a long woody finish. Very nice, though pretty standard gueuze.

bottle from beergium.com cloudy yellow, small bubbly head.Aroma is tart and sour, has notes of vinegar, funk,, leather, glue. aroma appears pretty strong and sharp. Flavor is tart, vinegar, sweet fruity note, The beer is both very very sour and wild yeasty, and somewhat sweet at the same time, perhaps adjusted with sugar? Perhaps just a coincidence.

1987: Hazy orange gueuze with a thin white head. Wonderfull full aroma with orange zest, animal musk, soil in a cave, and the inevitable horseblanket. In mouth, divine acidity, intense and wonderful in mouth with notes of sour cherries and earth. Rich and complex marriage of lactic and acetic acids. Terribly good. (10-4-9-5-18). Thanks Joris!
2005: Opalescent clear orange amber gueuze with thick white head. Intense horseblanket aroma with grapefruit pulp, freshly pressed. Lighter bodied than 1987 version . more citric acid. Lot more citrusy, Very Refreshing (8-4-8-4-16). Bought at brewery April 2005. (Tasting June 2005, with Dumdum)

Earthy aroma with oak, ctrus and apple. Sour and vinous with apple flavors. Not as deep and complex as Girardin or Cantillon, but certainly a very good traditional geuze.
